Thank you both! It's taken a while but is so worth it, to think when I first went on my DMP I felt such a failure...now I see it as a blessing in disguise:)Debt Free 1st March 2017

I've started my Christmas shopping for this year (all out of tin 1;)) - so DD1 and grandson done. Next is DD2 which I will get this weekend. I still have a couple of hundred left from tin 1 and I'm still adding to tin 2 (hoping for another £350 or so in there). I'm in the habit of putting my ££'s away now so will start on next Christmas from 1st December:o
Big boost at work, have been accepted on the out of hours rota permanently from January. This will increase my salary by about 5k a year, not sure whether to increase my DMP payment or just tuck as much as I can away and make sure everything is paid off by end of 2016 (I'm on course for this date anyway)?
Take care all

Well done on the xmas funds and shopping, absolutely fantastic I bet you're really chuffed!
Congratulations on the extra work, why don't you build your emergency fund first and then pay some extra off the debt then at least you have funds to fall back on if needed.

I love saving for Xmas as well - I feel so organised.
Loads of people at work are asking for January pay date to move forward as they struggle with 5 week months - I told them all to budget better and save for Xmas each month (honestly they are worse than my clients:rotfl:)
I would be saving the pay rise for the running away/new life fund:T:D:p0 -

Yes, people seem surprised by the arrival of Christmas:rotfl:. It's not as if they haven't enough warning of when it's likely to be every year is it?0 -
I've opened my second tin and my grand total saved for 2015 is... £858
I'm so pleased with that amount and I've not missed those £1 coins. The person who set up the 2015 challenge has gone AWOL so I've taken over the mantle and set up a new challenge for 2016
Only blip on our horizon at the moment is OH's van but hopefully it's not going to cost a fortune:eek:

That's an incredible saving! I would be tempted to let the payments carry on and start to build up the emergency fund, can you overpay on the debts when you can?
