Another payment made so another day nearer being debt-free:o
Quite a sad day today, I'm going to the funeral of someone that I grew up with and have known all my life. He fought so hard to live but unfortunately it wasn't to be. Put's things into perspective a little bit and Makes me thankful for my health.
Setting myself a few new milestones that can be achieved quickly, this keeps me focused and motivated and I must say that the debt seems to be reducing much faster now. I have one loan that is hurtling towards the finish line (9 more payments), it's in the hundreds now and will be the first to go and I'm sure when I reach that milestone it will be a major boost:)
Almost completed my first project for work and the next one is closer to home so I will get a bit of a breather before the next global one!
Take care all

It is payday on Friday and I have £94 left in my current account!!!! This has never happened before:j I am working abroad at the moment and not back until Friday so I won't be spending it either;) I'm going to put it into our emergency fund and then forget about it but just wanted to share.
My £ a day tin is also getting quite full now, this has been a very successful challenge and one that I will do again next year. Christmas is more or less organised from a finance point of view because of this, just need to sort out the shopping aspect.
I can't make my mind up about this job, some days it's ok and other's I think I've made a mistake but each passing week is a step closer to debt freedom which gives me lots of life options:)
Take care

Hi Ellie,
Sorry to read about your friend, I can empathise as one of my friends died this year too, as you say it puts life/debt into perspective.
Well done on the money leftovers, I have £4 left in my account till payday..luckily I do get my weeks cash on Friday from the OH!
Keep going with the job and once those debts are gone you will be free to choose the path you want to take.
Take care

Another payment down, we've dipped below the 19k mark which is definately a great boost. It feels as though the debt is reducing so much quicker, the numbers are coming down and the months are passing by. What seemed like an eternity in 2010 (2021 DFD to start) has passed by quickly so far and here we are with approx 2 1/2 years to go. I really do try not to wish my life away and stick with the here and now but if the next 2 1/2 years pass by as quickly then we will be debt-free before we know it...and then I will sail off into the sunset;)
Nothing much to report this month, I've worked away a lot so have put everything on expenses and not really spent anything which is a bonus. My £1 a day tin is growing and I have been putting extra in so Christmas is sorted but I have got used to budgetting for Christmas over the last 4 years anyway ~(no credit cards!!)
Right, off to update my spreadsheets:p
Take care all

Just need a quick rant before I explode:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
OH has a cold so it's down tools and feel sorry for himself. Sat in front of the TV all day and work abandoned:mad: It's coming to the close of the season and time for 6 months off anyway so why worry?
Keep going with my mantra 2 1/2 years, 2 1/2 years etc. etc.
Rant over...and breath;)Debt Free 1st March 2017

Oh Ellie - rant away:rotfl:
Glad you managed to keeping breathing:rotfl:
Keep thinking of your perfect life in 2.5 years and know you are doing the right thing for you.
I think he is going to get a shock in 2.5yrs - what money will he have to pay bills during the 6mths of no work??0 -
Hi EE,
He will have no money to pay bills, I pay for everything! I earn a very good salary so he takes no interest in anything because he knows that I will pick up the tab. I used to pay for his booze and fags too, just for a quiet life but I stopped doing this because he took it for granted and it made his life even easier.
On a more positive note, I took my cat to the Vet as he needed his jumping juice (Metacam), he's old and I was afraid what the Vet might tell us but the good news is that his heart and kidney's are healthy...it's just his poor legs that let him down but he has adapted and we can keep him a while longer:)
I've just checked my Noddle account and the debt is certainly coming down and my mortgage is too - I'm thinking that I could possibly shave off another 6 months from my debt-free date but I might have to wait until maybe my next review in the Spring so that I get through the winter months, which are always difficult.
Take care

A whole new future awaits!!0 -
Hi EE,
I'm good thanks and I hope all is well in your world too.
Yes, it would be great to shave off a few months and that's my ultimate goal;)
