Hi ChrisBlue
22 years seems a long long time but I was amazed how much small amounts knock off the overall time. We've upped our DMP by £60+ and it's taken 18 months off!! Once my car finishes we can really go to town on our debts and get rid of them in a little over 5 years!:)
I spend some of my time on the CCCS debt free quicker calculator manipulating our payments..... it's a nice dream!!!;)
Take care

That's the second christmas without the use of CC's and the first that has been budgetted for properly. It felt great to go to the supermarket and spend money and not worry about how much the bill would be thanks to all the savings stamps that I'd saved throughout the year:)
The downside this christmas was that my car failed it's MOT but we had money set aside so again we didn't have to worry whether we could pay or not:) As I use my car for work it is essential that it is reliable and there is a niggle at the back of my mind that I can't now go and trade it in for a new one (this one's 5 years old)
Everything else plodding on as normal:o
Happy New Year everyone and here's to a dept free future!

One more payment to go and then my car is paid for! This means we can crank up the amount we are paying back on CC's bringing our debt free date closer:)
OH hasn't had much (if any) work through the winter:( but hopefully the milder weather will make a difference soon. We are now managing on my salary alone and we are still here:o We don't go out or spend on anything that is not essential but we are happy and I find saving is becoming a bit of an obsession:o
I use Aldi more than ever and find that the quality of their items is on a par with the more expensive supermarkets. We cook the majority of our meals from scratch and hubby is quite the chef these days:)
I feel quite positive about the future most of the time but have a wobble and a bit of a cry from time to time about our situation but it is nothing compared to the stress that we were under at the beginning. We've now paid off £5,843.09 in 18 months and our total debt has just dipped under the 40k mark. These milestones are the things that keep me going:TDebt Free 1st March 2017

Just been through another review with CCCS as the HP on our car finishes this month and our month dmp payment jumps by £254 per month! but.... our debt free date comes 3years and 2 months closer:j
I don't think that I have ever been so happy to pay more to something:o We can now see more than a chink of light at the end of the tunnel

quick update to diary... I went along to the local college to try out the hairdressing salon run by the Third Year students and they have done a really good job! Highlights, cut and blow £24.50 and after I've been 6 times I get a 15% discount:) Can't say fairer than that, it's saving me a fortune and looks great!Debt Free 1st March 2017

Our first payment for £659 has gone to CCCS, this plus the mortgage and everything else that goes out on the 1st of the month has made one hell of a hole in my salary but on the plus side at least I can see what's left for the rest of the month:eek:
I keep myself going with the fact that my DFD has come an awful lot closer:)Debt Free 1st March 2017

So as we near another month end, we have survived the hike in our payment to CCCS and it wasn't too bad. It's made a hole in our debt total though which is good:)
On another note, I'm off to the local college again today for my eyebrows shaped and tinted £3... bargain. I've been really pleased with everything that they have done so and it hasn't cost me a lot of money but I feel so pampered whilst I'm there, it's a great way to relieve stress and feel that I'm still allowing myself little treats which don't cost the earth;)Debt Free 1st March 2017

I thought it had gone too smoothly for us these last months.... looks like the company that I'm working is going into liquidation therefore no wages or expenses (which I've had to fork out for the month):eek:
Panic is setting in and not sure what to do but I've been applying for as many jobs as I can today:eek:Debt Free 1st March 2017

Still no further on with the company that I work for:mad: No wages and no updates:mad::mad: They are trying to find investors but a bit of information would be useful. On the plus side I have a couple of interviews so may not need to live on fresh air for too long:(
Going through life in a daze at the moment, waiting and waiting and waiting......Debt Free 1st March 2017
