Hi Jackie,
Things are pretty much the same, still plodding along paying CCCS.
OH is now getting work in which is giving us a breathing space and enabling us to put a little by.
I am now into single figures on my car instalments so by the end of the year this will be finished and hopefully I can up my payment to CCCS to reduce the debt quicker:o
Hope things are o.k. with you
Happy Easter!

Hi Ellie
Hope u r ok, Im fine plodding along things bit better my Dad gave me some of his inheritence, so it has eased things a great deal, not enough though to pay my debts off. So have tucked it away for a rainy day.
Starting to get a few letters from Aqua and Argos saying they want a financial statement or they will put interest back on funny Argos or Aqua never really stopped anyway, rang CCCS and said dont panic they
will send relevent letters and said they do this after 6 months sometimes and then they may send onto Debt recovery we will see.
Nearly 10 months down the road, hope things ok with you

Well Done to both Ellieseleven and Jackies41 on your DMP.
My DMP has been going for about two years and have just dipped under the £18K mark - still along way to go!DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499
28th October 2019 - £13,505 - 27% paid off.

15 months in and the total is reducing slowly but surely. We've got used to the budgetting mularky and we are managing without credit cards!! My big worry was working away and how I would pay for hotels etc. but I have kept a float and this has been sufficient for the last 12 months so hopefully long may it continue (my only worry is that I may have to go to the US but I will cross that bridge when it comes along)
My car is almost finished so my dmp payments will increase by quite a chunk which will bring my debt free date down by a considerable number of years.... then I'm plotting my escape from this country!!!:rotfl:Debt Free 1st March 2017

How weirds that? I updated my diary yesterday and today received a letter to say that we are due a review!
Anyway, I've rung them and gone through my budget and our monthly payment has increased by £60 per month but this brings our DFD down by 18 months!!!!:T I'm so happy:rotfl:I have to ring them again in a couple of months once my car is paid off but that should half the time left before we clear our debts!!
To anyone debating whether a DMP is the best way out of debt, I just want to say again that for us this has been the best solution and we can now see (just) a dot on the horizon when we will be free of debt.
I still get upset when I think of how stressed out I was with the worry of a mountain of debt but now when I see the end in sight one day it really spurs me on to be DEBT FREE!!

Well Done Ellieseleven on your ongoing resolve and perserverence on getting your debt repaid.
I'm only a couple of years into my DMP and it's going to be a long haul - we are looking at about 22 years at the moment  - this is because my dmp is low at the moment as I'm repaying Gas / Electricity arrears / priority debts.
However, reading your diary provides that "shot in the arm" to help others who flag from time to time
Good Luck and look forward to achieving your goal rather than backwards to why it went wrong in the first placeDFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

Hi Ellie
Not been on for a while, my payments have gone up to by £122 per month bit of a shock but should be able to manage. Husband and I have separated bit of a releif but also scary as me and the kids on our own now, having to pay the mortgage and extra bills etc.
3 years been knocked off though so debt free early like you.
Are you going to live in the US?
Hope you are ok Jackiexxx:rotfl:0 -
Hi Jackie,
Sorry to hear about you and your hubby but good news about your DFD coming a bit nearer.
I'm not going to live in the US, maybe need to visit for work. My plan long-term is to move to Spain but it's a way off just yet.
Hope that everything else is still bobbing along for you, who whould of thought of the changes in our lives just over a year ago?
Take care Jackie
