In fairness to OP, Pets at Home amongst others sell a range of dog toys that do make noises, pheasants and ducks spring to mind. As these make fairly authentic noises I assume they have some sort of voice box buried deep inside the toy safely.
The reviews of this toy state it does contain batteries so I think the comments are a little harsh.

This is ruff!"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Report the seller to Trading Standards. They're also not registered as a business I wonder if the Taxman knows?0

Surely the title of this tread should actual be:
unsafe dog nearly choked on toy.advice plz
With the simple answer being; "Don't give your dog something that is potentially a choking hazard and never intended for a dog"
With regards to 'consumer rights' you have none. The product was not intended for canine use, so any product liability insurance the manufacturers will have, wont be applicable.
Instead of looking for someone to blame, perhaps look at your own actions. If you have home insurance it is perfectly possible to take an action out against yourself. You might struggle to quantify damages (as there were none) but don't let that stop you.
Don't be surprised when your premium go up next year if you do though.0 -

It wasn't meant as harsh.
TBH I'm horrified that Pets at Home think it's ok to give dogs toys with batteries.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
anybody who thinks i am an irresponsible dog owner, the dog is almost 8 and has never come to any harm with his toys,he has never ripped anything apart.if he was that type i wouldnt bother buying fabric toys if he was going to shred them.i think i know my own dog best.
i bought the item as it was listed as a dog toy.you cannot tell from pics it isnt.as i said he had it ten mins and it was binned after he choked.

Don't take it to heart! A lot of posts you see will be people noticing that someone else is upset or angry and trying to wind them up. Just ignore it.0
