On the subject of people upsetting you. I've recently finished a Personal Development course via by children's centre (surestart) and I can honestly say it's been the best thing I ever did,it made me understand 'me' better so then other peoples opinions and values didn't get to me in a negative way. Each week our tutor started the class with something we had to be grateful for and I can say without fail every single week for the 18 it ran I could pinpoint something that had happened that I could say 'I'm grateful for that'. The course finished last week, so you'll have to have this weeks one...'I'm grateful for perks at work' (see my prev post) :D

I agree - we were obviously seperated at birth!:)

Ds2 has had a lovely 3rd birthday, a little hyper but that to be expected. Ds1 who is 5 is so tired from his first full year of school he crashed big time around 6.15pm when my mum and sister left.

Mum brought me 2 coupons for £1.50 off a packof surf washing tablets and has offered to swap fridge freezers with us next month as since my dad died in January she doesnt use her freezer much or cook big meals and freeze them. Her Ff is much bigger than ours and she said we shouldnt struggle trying to cram meat into the freezer that I buy reduced when she eats at my sisters most days - so it turned out a good day for me too!

buying DS1 last bit off uniform tomorrow then only two pairs of school shoes and two school coats to buy - hoping we have some holiday money left next week which will help.

hope everyone has a good evening x

Helllo everyone, I'm feeling very pleased as my cupboards are again full of dented tins, Mr T's had a very good selection of YS stuff this afternoon, loo rolls, chopped tomatoes, washing powder etc etc.

I also bought a lovely brand new looking skirt in a charity shop for £3.99 and foolishly didn't buy a lovely tshirt that would have gone perfectly with it in another charity shop....maybe I'll go back tomorrow and see if it's still there. It would mean a whole new outfit for £7 :)

DD enjoyed some home-grown new potatoes for dinner tonight, and she repeated her mantra of "food tastes better when you grow it yourself", bless her :) She's got a good head on her 5 year old shoulders! Next year we WILL get more organised to grow a reasonable amount of vegetables.......

I am feeling quite chuffed as I got some cutprice rhubarb from Mr T today and made 2 jars of rhubarb and ginger compote with it. Also some cutprice strawberries which are now on the way to becoming strawberry vodka for later in the year (won't use the C word just yet!)

    Hi Kezlou,

Re cooking baked potatoes: presumably you still leave the ceramic dish in the slow cooker? Maybe that's a silly question....?

    Tiddles

not a silly question at all, yes just leave them in the ceramic dish, i just cook them as do everything do.

Oh and another thought, if your in say two hours before the potato are cooked, you could put your fillings in. I did this with chilli, just place the chilli in a smaller ceramic dish and placed it on top of the silver foil wrapped potatoes. Leave in till pots are are ready and voila jackets and chilli all ready at the same time.

My daughter and her partner have just been made redundant - they worked for the same company. She went to sign on and the woman was totally horrible to her. My daughter was forced to say - Just because I have a 4 bedroomed house and a car (neither of which she can sell, not for want of trying!), I've still been made redundant - I haven't quite had time to move into a council house yet!! Very cheeky child I have, but surely the jobseekers woman must realise that she needs advice and help as much as anyone else. There but for the grace of whoever.........I don't understand how the economy is going to improve with so many redundancies around.

Thank you for the welcome!!! I am not taring everyone with the same brush here . . . but there is a minority of people who have never worked and have no desire to ever do so. But I seem to be meeting an increasing amount of people who have turned to JSA as a last resort and they are being treated like criminals, it's just shocking and I am ashamed that my generation make up a large part of this 'minority'.

Anyhooo, I am going to start putting some of these fab tips you have all added to some use (quite excited).

Keep your heads up guys xxxx

....So i ended up spending £30:eek::eek:in La Senza on three bras and 2 pants. I swear i was crying inside, when did they become so expensive.....

....One thing I did remember. Bras..... I have got my (size DD) M&S brand new bras the last few times from ebay. Tagged and definately new, I have not paid more than £4 any time. Maybe worth a look?....

I'm a 32DD and have found M&S or Tesco's reduced rails or Ebay to be my best places to find reasonable priced bras. Asda don't do any in my size.

Just thought I'd wade in to the discussion, I'm a 38F cup and find that Debenhams are getting better and better for bras...so difficult to find one that holds upright :)

I've bought from their gorgeous range and it starts under £20 and you can buy for around £11 in their sales....seriously good support and the plain ones work well under t-shirts
