There was a slug in our kitchen this morning and I touched it with my bare hands because it was on the cupboard door handle and I didn't see it  yuck! I did freak out a bit and DH had to remove it
I get spiders for him, he removes anything else for me! It did explain the sluggy trails I've been finding on the carpets but I don't know where they're coming from, any ideas? It's only the second we've had in the kitchen but I've seen evidence of them having been in the house even when I haven't actually seen them.
My cupboards are getting pretty bare...well they're not bare in man ways as I have loads of pasta and quite a few tins of beans and pulses but I don't have anything to combine this as a meal and hardly any veg apart from a few onions and a couple of mushrooms. Fortunately we both got paid recently so I just need to fit in the time to go shopping and to write up a proper meal plan for the month between now and next payday...well menu plan first, then shopping!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Gailey - DD school lunches have gone up by 5p a day to £1.85p. We tried her on packed lunches but she dodnt eat them. This was every day she gets a sticker that says shes eaten up all her dinners so I know she has.
Well thw weather here is looking gloomy. Ds and I have been singing the wheels on the bus this morning. We get to 'natter natter natter' and he is in histerics
My brother has thankfully and finally took the job thats been offered to him so as of Monday he shall be working and I shall have the house back to normal in the day at least. I went o Asda earlier and they had some good offers on cereals making branded a lot cheaper than own brand. Somehow a packet of sweeties landed in my trolley so im sure I shall have fun sharing them later (yum yum)
Wishing you all a lovely and peaceful dayMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!

Yep - good idea. It doesnt impinge on someone's pride if you're "just passing over" surplus garden produce. Do you have any spare potatoes? - best of all ..as that would give her some carbohydrate to fill up with as well (of course - you could always be a little devious and buy a large bag of potatoes and roll them in a bit of mud from your garden - so it LOOKS as if they have come from your garden;):) - she's not to know whether you actually grow potatoes as well or no...).
The Americans have an idea going about deliberately growing a bit extra food (over and above what they need themselves) - something about "grow an extra row"??? This is done specifically so they have some to give away to anyone who needs it. Hence my thoughts that we should all grow everything we can and it doesnt matter if we have spare - there may be someone who needs it.
At the least - if we can manage to grow surplus of something - we can swop it with other people for something that they grow and we don't/cant.
I had a day at the seaside and was pleased to see a house with a box full of beans and courgettes outside saying 'please help yourself'. My girlfriend, who is foreign and hadn't heard of the custom, was a bit worried about taking them! Anyway, if you're reading, thanks to whoever it was (Frinton on Sea, Essex).'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0 -

I found a small slug on the rug this morning. We have a Lhasa Apso and she sometimes brings them in on her fur if she has been on the wet grass.0 -

Elona thats great news I know what you mean I'm already in 'batten down the hatches' mode :rotfl:
I'm a bit worried ATM as both my boys are due for renewal of their DLA before xmas and DS2 has high rate on both so we have a mobilty car to transport him around in.
We'd be stuffed if he lost it as he cannot use any other form of transport..we have nowhere near enough saved even for a decent secondhand banger and with 2 disabled kids its worrying me sick!
DS3 costs a small fortune to clothe as he still chews everything, their money really is needed.
I've been trying to save a bit here and there but something always comes up.0 -

She quite naughty. She was ill-treated by her 1st home and kicked hard causing her inside organs to go up a bit. My friends hustband didnt like her so he arranged a place with the RSPCA and used a bic razor to shave her before she went only they didnt have a place for 5 weeks for her. I went round one afternoon and brought her back with me. I couldnt leave her there. She was 4 months, underweight and in a bad way. Shes settled in well with my other puppy solving her seperation problems. We took her for a check up at the vets just to make sure all was well and thats when we found out about her bits being a bit pushed up. The vet said she will always be small and was generally disgusted at what had happened as she has just a light dusting of fur. She certainly doesnt look like a Westie. More a wire haired Jack Russell but thats proabily cause the razoring.Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!

We don't have a dog (I'd love one but we both work FT and landlord wouldn't let us anyway) so it's not that...they're getting in somewhere :mad:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T
