Tiger bread has a coating of peanut oil on it, that gives it it's colour & distinctive smell (had a friend who used to be a baker at AS*A)
Thanks for that, will have a go this weekend. Just need to pop to kashmiri food store for the oil, then off we go.
lambanana sorry to hear your news, i was told in my primary school years i wouldn't be able to have children, so i count myself as extremely lucky to have my two boys. Great news though on being to qualify for IVF treatment through the NHS. Best of luck hun!
Gailey i make peppercorn corn using wholegrain mustard mixed in with single cream. It works quite well.

Thrilla - Fantastic I always use the following method. Hold on just a momwnt please called and I will get my parents, I then pass the phone to my 2 year old who will happily start chatting away always saying Hello first. Im really naughty so I put it on speaker phone. The conversation the other day went
Hello said DS
Then the caller started to chat
Fireman SAm and choo choo on the Tv says DS
Pardon Sir
Wonder pets wonder pets had toast for breakie what you had? and I just leave him chatting for as long as they keep on the line for really
Needless to say they dont phone back. I let DS have a chat when I had friends round and they really could not stop laughing
DH and I went to Tesco tonight. I really cannot believe the price of fruit and veg. Weve always got a full fruit bown and the children know they can help themselves but at this rate im going to have to restict what goes in there
We havent had the heating on since valentines day this year as the bill was so high, I really dont know how we will cope this year. Snow causes real probs, not just with the schools closing but DH has to travel 35 miles a day to work and he simply cannot get through
My only luxery is my elec blanket

lambanana-wishing you all the very best of luck. I was told I couldnt have children after trying for DD for 4 years. We were told she was a miracle. We built a life based on just having DD and gave everythign away after we ahd used it.I had a scan for my PCOS and they told me the damage to my tubes was so bad id be needing them out. The scanner didnt notice DS in there so it was very much a shock to us both to be told on the day of my operation I was indeed pregnant. We had moved to a much larger house with a big mortgage and got a new car things we wouldnt have done with me expecting again. Ive also lost twins since then last year.Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!

Just popping in quickly to say that I know of three people who all tried for years to have children and spent ages getting onto IVF lists etc only to get up to the last minute and discover they were pregnant, one friend was actually at the clinic for her first IVF appointment when they told her she wasnt suitable as she was already expecting.0

Gailey...its a little early yet to buy big bags of potatoes...in Ireland we are still using early potatoes and they won't really be cheaper until main crop is harvested...I know that your harvest is earlier than ours but would still wait a while so that they will keep better for you.
Princess kate....jealous of your price for bread flour....I pay €2.55 for 2kg for strong bread flour...don't find the bread as nice if I use Lidl or Aldi plain flour and they don't do strong here.

Thanks for that , the most miserable woman in farmshop said wait another month for bags. Its only because we run out and they sprout far too quickly even when kept in big cupbaord.
Grandma 247 asians supermarket sounds good we have large one part of chain something masala but not been in plus few smaller ones and chinese supermarket near ikea again never tried.
Thanks everyone peppercorn sauce recipies will try in future.
Colmans finest packet was very nice was such a rare treat to have huge steak, wedges and petit pois.
we costed it all up and worked out 2.50 per portion so restaurants charging 15quid huge profits.
Hubbys so pleased I made him try something new.
we sorted all meat out tonight and froze some got
26proper sausages for fiver and 30rashers of bacon for fiver.
We tallied it up and compared to sainsburys prices think would have cost 50quid plus and we paid 27 should make several meals and last us ages.
we saved about 15quid farmfoods just on milk/bread and sugar alone.
I think hubbys changing hes trying new things and trying to get more for less.
Good luck everyone with ivf must be hard.
Im stupidly exited as lady from netmums dropping off 2nd hand bed for eldest daughter and decorating both rooms this weekend so they fit for my 2princesses.

Just checked the tin of yeast I got, cost 68p i think, is 125g but is dried active yeast and is not recommended for use in bread makers, think you need to re-activate it in warm water 1st. Fine for me as I dont have a bread maker but I know a lot of you do.0

Morrisons do bigger bags. I picked up a 10Kg bag of seconds for £2.49 the other day. It has some massive ones in.
They also do a 12kg bag for £3 something.

I haven't been to any as I live in the sticks, don't drive and Cardiff's about 25 miles away. But we've been through parts of it that are Asian areas and they seem to have a few decent sized supermarkets.0
