Both my DS's had farleys from about 3 months (b/f first) with DS1 moving onto the hungry baby quite quickly.
Started DD on farleys from about 3 months (b/f first) but they suddenly changed the formula to Heinz Nurture and whacked about another £4 on the price of the tin! So changed to Cow & Gate staying on that til she moved onto cows milk at a year old. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I used Aptamil as it was recommended as being the closest thing to breastmilk ad I do believe this claim as DS poos were the same as a breastfed baby and not like formula fed.0

I used Cow & Gate, it was the hopsital nurses put my DS on it, basically held up that or SMA and I said whichever (this was straight after giving birth mind you). I kept him on it as it agreed with him, but I know my sis had to change from C&G to SMA for her DS as it was giving him probs.0

DS was breastfed for 4 months then we tried SMA which bunged him up good and proper.
I spent most of my evening playing bicycle legs.
Moved him on to cow and gate and never looked back.
Aptamil and C&G appear to be made in the same place and a lot of the ingredients appeared to be the same (to my untrained eye).0 -
I breastfed all of mine for 3 months then went on to Aptamil as my cousin (who was my child rearing oracle
) told me that Cow and Gate made babies fat and SMA caused really smelly puke :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Also, Aptamil was what they used in SCBU at my hospital so decided it was the best option and they were all great on it0 -
I didn't use formula as such for feeding as I Breastfed both my two. But, I did use formula for mixing with cereals etc when weaning. The one that I used was SMA. I'm a MW, and I felt that that was closest to breastmilk.
Why did you think that inkie? Because Aptamil is the one that says it's closest isn't it? Would be interested to know, especially as you're a MW and medically trained. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I used cow and gate.
As far as I am aware they are all pretty similar, and aptamil isn't any more similar to breastmilk than any other formula. You might as well try the cheapest milk [which isn't Aptamil] and see if that agrees with your baby.0
