I used SMA for all three of mine a long time ago (youngest is now 13!) I seem to remember it was supposed to be the best?!0

I started my oldest on Farleys but she didn't get on with it and it kept making her really sick so then I tried SMA. I have since used SMA on my other three babies and have had no problems with any of them. The youngest is only 2 months old and is still on SMA. She has no problem winding after having her milk. She normally does a very loud burp about a minute after putting her on my shoulder! I think it also depends on the bottles you use, as when I was in hospital with my youngest (had to stay in for 5 days), the teats and bottles gave her a lot of wind, but as soon as we got out of hospital and I used my own bottles and teats, she had a lot less wind!DD1 born May 2002, DD2 born Dec 2005, DS born Dec 2008. Baby due May 2010! TEAM PINK!!

I used SMA cause thats what my OH came home with when I couldn't breastfeed-second baby managed to breastfeed for 8 months-so much cheaper:)
I supported a mum and dad last week at the birth of their baby at 38 weeks, ended up going for induction but had c-section in end. WHen me and the dad where in sucbu with baby doctor said we need to start feeding baby, mum had GA so was really sleepy not up to expressing, dad said -help I don't know name, so that I didn't influence him I asked if they had info to help him make an informed decision, nurse said oh we can't give it out its promoting formula feeding, I was just like 'what!' so baby has ended up with SMA as its the only one I could think of. I thought it was ridiculous that they could help the dad even though baby needed feeding and he had to make a decision.0 -
With my eldest I started him on SMA, mainly because of the name and most people I know had used it at some point. DS1 wouldn't settle on it, was a very sick colicky baby so HV recommended Mulipa (sp) which was part of the aptimil family, it was disconntinued soon after I started using it so I went onto aptimil with him and it really helped with his digestion. With DS2 I put him straight on it and he didn't have nay trouble at all. A pregnant with my 3rd child now and plan on breastfeeding but will get a few small cartons of Aptimil in just incase it doesn't happen x0

I Used Hip Organic with my first but had to change to Aptamil with my second as he was very constipated with any other milk. I think that aptamil has fibre in it which was the winner for me.I have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat - Rebecca West

I started my 5 month old on SMA but it really didn't suit him and at a couple of weeks old started suffering really badly from colic and constipation. My best friend ended up doing a mercy dash to Asda at 2am one morning to try and find something for his colic and found Cow and Gate Comfort for colic and constipation. Within 24 hours my poor little baby was back to normal and we've stuck with it ever since. It costs about 70p more than the normal one but it's been worth it for peace of mind.
The only down side is that it turns their poo green and quite smelly and because it has a thicker consistency and they have to work harder to suck he's having trouble moving back on to the normal stuff because he can't cope with a faster flow.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I use Aptamil because i tried the pre made SMA and it was yellowish and smelt of yeast. And i felt bad for Lily lol.
With Aptamil her poos are more like when she was breastfed and she loves it0 -
I used SMA for both of mine.
It was the only milk I knew as my mother had used it for my wee bro. My cousin used cow and gate for all of her children as her mother used it for her little sister.

Sma for all my 3 and infact i think all relatives have used it for their young at some point or another. I do know that my SIL had trouble with her youngest son and was advised to use wysoy, back in the day (hes nearly 17 now) it was only available on prescription but i have seen it on the shelf in Boots so is more readily available.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

I didn't use formula as such for feeding as I Breastfed both my two. But, I did use formula for mixing with cereals etc when weaning. The one that I used was SMA. I'm a MW, and I felt that that was closest to breastmilk.0
