Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
The correct sequence for the internet light on the router is:

Flashing Orange - Trying to sync with the exchange DSLAM
Solid Orange - Synchronised but not logged on to Sky
Solid Green - Logged on to Sky ( this can take up to a minute )

Have you any any joy in logging on to the router?
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Hi, yes I understand,, that's how it normally works. The above stuff is the weird things it's done today, flashing both orange and green simulataneously, whats that about?.

To be honest I was quite happy to just use the system yesterday so have not logged on to the router, the logistics is awkward too
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Right hopefully final feedback time. I like to close posts properly when possible. It took untill yesterday to eventually sort this one.

Things continued as desribed for a couple of weeks. Sky supplied new filters. I fitted a New bell wire filtered master socket. Still the same. The telephone remained perfect all this time.

Sky eventually suplied a new router 4 days ago, identical but Sagem by manufacturer.

Plugged the new unit in and wallop, no internet and no telephone.

Tested incoming cable, 50Vdc accross one incomer to earth but only varying results accross the 2 incomers of anywher between 2, 12, 35 and odd time 50V (48 is assumed). Couldn't get a constant reading.

Phone wouldn't now work even when plugged into the direct back plate socket with no other connections.

Tel line is overhead but no external junction box at the property.

Anyway in for a penny, in for...... I lifted the incoming cable out of a couple of clips and bared the conductors on the underside. Variable voltage evertime I tested, generally 5v dc.

At this point I turned round and Mr BT Open reach pulled up in his van 20 yds down the road . Quickly put the clip back over the "test point" and went for a chat. He was out to a line fault 50 houses away but said it could be linked, but any request would have to be phoned in do to multiple providers.

We did this anyway and sky said up to 48 hrs before one of their engineers could attend, (after taking great care to explain it would cost us approaching £200 for an hrs work and callout if it was proved our fault.

1/2 later Bt man calls in and says "sorry problems not linked"

2 hrs later he's back again, come to do the job this time.

It was a corroded 0v wire at the top of the post 20 yds down the road, no spare outlets so new feed wire from post to master socket. :T:T:T

I can only conclude from this and if anyone can sense check this that sufficient voltage or current was available to run the phones but the modem at times could not be supplied correctly???

Replacing the modem with the new unit that possibly drew more was the final straw that actually burned out the line?????

Only taken a month to sort, fingers crossed:beer::beer::beer:
