Claire still dont have definite date but hopefully picking up the keys on 13th August....then R is away on holiday for a week so will give me time to get in, clean from top to bottom, decorate where necessary and move in bits and bobs before the big move sometime after that. I luckily have 3 weeks off work from the 13th so will be great to be able to potter and make it our home :)

Jo, it's a Singer - not sure how old but it looks very 70s! Works brilliantly though. I'm going to start with some cushion covers (for us and maybe some pressies as well) then see how I go from there. Mr S wants us to re-cover the dining chairs but that might take some practice!

Red Squirrel - a few years ago I decided I didn't really like my dining chairs which were basically a cushion seat (easy to take out and cover using a staple gun on the underneath). The backs are wood quite square (two edges and a bar across the top and half way). So she cut a piece of material which was long enough from the top of the chair to the seat and another top of the chair to almost the floor. Sewed across the top and down the sides to the chair seat, and hemmed the one side to the floor and they just slip over my dining room chairs. Easy to slip off for washing as well. May have not described that very well but hope you get the jist!! Billie x
