Fuel Saving MAGNETS???

Ask them why the original companies are no longer advertising them, Because a court told hem to stop and
handed them a big fine is the answer your looking for.
Magnetic petrol, lol.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
To be honest fuel is pushed out of injectors at such pressure that it won't have stayed in the orientation it was magnetised to, even if the magnets did somehow re-orient the fuel in the fuel lines.
On a carb engine there a fuel pot on the carb where the fuel would get mixed up(does any actually make a car with carbs anymore?). on an injection it going to forced though a small gap and atomised.
Its the lack proof that's the problem and people buying things without thinking about the claims being made.
If people where educated to be more scientific literate, that's being able to apply the scientific process properly not spurt out loads of facts figure this country would be much better off.

I don't think carbs are legal in the UK since around the mid 90's due to emissions legislation. I believe in some other countries cars may still be sold with carbs.0

When I was a Trading Standards Officer I actually prosecuted the importer of one of these devices. They had lots of research and test results frrom the USA saying how fantastic they were. Unfortunately they were all forged. They were most disappointed when I produced statements from the American labs to spoil their plans.
The bottom line is that they simply do not work. There is no possible reason why they would. The MD of the company concerned was lucky to avoid jail, although he ended up bankrupt by the time we had finished. One thing that surprised me was that these devices have actually been around, in one form or another, since the late 1940s. They surface every so often, presumably to hook a whole new generation of saps. It is a classic snake-oil operation. Like every rope-a-dope operation, the combination of greed and stupidity will ensure a willing supply of mugs.0 -
^^ The othe one i've seen is a device that plugs into your lighter socket and reduces fuel consumption by removing electrical interference......
Now im an electronics engineer, i've done work for major car manufacturers and I just laughed my !!!! off when I saw the ads for this thing :rotfl:“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Cheap, nasty, don't work, aren't intended to, and a waste of your hard-earned money...
In fact, I have a BHP chip here that promises it'll increase your car by 15BHP!
None of these things are worth it, continually get asked about them.... They have no beneficial effect whatsoever on your car.0 -
Those BHP chips do work somewhat but they're just a 5p resistor you can buy from maplins etc. They fool the ECU into overfuelling the car so it feels more powerful. These scams normally state you will save fuel, but when the fact is it increases fuel output it is impossible to see how this might be the case.In fact, I have a BHP chip here that promises it'll increase your car by 15BHP!0 -
i actually only posted this as it was something i had never heard of before and just wanted a general opinion. not a pile of sarcastic comments in reply!!
u may think your witty, but it really will put people off asking for help and advice if this is what they think they will get back!! so much for a helpful forum!!!!!!!!!!!!
why not be polite and simply state, no - they do not work for xxxxxxxx reason and leave it nice and simple for people to read and understand? witty, clever, no thanks!
to the few people that did give clear, un-opinionated and polite advice, thanks loads
i do believe i didnt mention buying or even thinking of buying, just that i had never heard of them before, so if i hadnt, then maybe there were other people out there the same and just didnt like to ask - now i knw why they probably didnt!0 -
jm2k, I don't think anyone's having a pop at you! Just laughing at the claims these crazy manufacturers make. Please don't take the sarcasm seriously - it's not meant to offend and remember that some old-timers on here have seen it all, a million times before and probably can seem a bit jaded! Re. your original post, it's the usual advice: if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is..."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Yep, I wasn't taking the mick out of you, but the so called "product".0
