Fuel Saving MAGNETS???
i have seen Turbomag Magnets advertised which apparantly offer to reduce your fuel consumption!!!
i quote
"We believe that you will not find a better way to massively decrease your fuel bills as well as increasing performance - all of our products have been fully tested and yes they do work.
The greatest selling point of the turbomag is the fact that it works on any car, yes any car and the fact that is so very simple to install, you do not need to cut any fuel lines. It just clamps round your fuel lines and saves you petrol - Its that simple!
The more you fit the more you save, its as simple as that, we recommend at least 2 sets per car! "
Does anyone have any experience of these things???
thanks

If you believe the claims made, I have a bridge for sale that I reckon you would be interested in.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0

Crikey, all these years with Car Manufacturers trying to get the best out of their engines and all they needed was a little magnet.
I have some magic beans here you might be interested in.0 -
I notice they say "we believe" instead of "We guarantee you will see a reduction of X% over Y period of time and/or Z miles, and here are real scientific articles proving this, not just some fluff and a clip art of someone in a white coat we found on the interweb".
You should notice that too.
Or how about this... "I believe that if you just drive a bit more gently, and anticipate the road rather than using harsh acceleration and braking techniques, then you will save money on your fuel bills. And I'll believe it for half the money they're charging to believe that magnets will do the same thing".
There you go. I'll believe you can save money with my snake oil for half the price of their snake oil, and I'm sure you'll agree that at half price my rates are certainly competitive. If this is agreeable then send the agreed amount to the charity of your choice (or a cancer charity if you think a charity of MY choice might be better) and have fun driving your car without the "help" of money wasting magnets. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
Fuel is magnetic?Wow no need for pumps anymore.0

OP if you send me £50 and your car registration number I will cast a spell that will do the same thing. If you change your car you'll need to pm me the new reg or it won't work any more.0

Scientific literacy is this country is so incredibly poor, it unbelievable sometimes.
I would say scientific literacy is more important the English Literacy.0 -

It’s a long long time ago but whilst I agree with you that fuel isn’t magnetic I do seem to remember that fuel molecules (all molecules?) can be affected by magnetic fields. Something to do with ions & charged particles or similar chemical witchcraft
Whether any such effect would remain by the time the fuel had reached the injector and if it did whether it would have an effect on efficiency/economy I don’t know but I’m pretty sure if it did then every internal combustion engine in the world would have them fitted from the factory0 -

If this was true don't you think car companies would be using them already to increase there mpg stats0

To be honest fuel is pushed out of injectors at such pressure that it won't have stayed in the orientation it was magnetised to, even if the magnets did somehow re-orient the fuel in the fuel lines.0
