I know nothing about premiums etc so don't know which is more usual If you have the time, try going through the details of each policy and compare what they offer, perhaps there's a crucial difference that makes one more expensive? More than likely that you can find a policy for cheaper than the £90 though, companies are often keen to attract customers with low prices so a good deal should be out there

In my view £90 per month for life and critical illness is too much, bearing in mind that it isn't covering you for OH current problem.

To give an example, I pay £24 per month for life and critical illness for myself my wife and my 2 year old. I'm happy with the smallprint and it is with Legal and General.
