kerrier council are throwing my family on the streets

Having a quick skim through, looks like the last one was a 2-bed bungalow in the first week of June. Probably went to an old/disabled person if it's a bungalow. I just looked it up, yes, that's supported living. And it had 16 bids.
So then, it's back into May.... and I can't be bothered really0 -
Just trying to find out the precise and exact definition of Kerrier. It's here: http://www.cornwall.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=14438
Even more unpopulated/remote than I thought. Penzance and St Ives aren't even in it, nor's anywhere at all big. Helston's the biggest place on that list.
OP's picked a right 4rse end of nowhere to waste away in. It's all witches, standing stones, strange old wells and druids down there.
It's very difficult to find out exactly where it is/what houses would be specifically in that area .... maps are all different... I think even the mapmakers didn't bother (probably got turned into standing stones by the witches).0 -
Trying to get postcodes for the area, it looks like TR12 and TR13 might be definites, then it gets fuzzy. TR17, TR20, TR27 and TR26 might, or might not, be part of the area. These might/might not be included:
Helston: TR13
Camborne: TR14
Redruth: TR15, TR16
Marazion: TR17
Long Rock: TR20
Penzance: TR18
Hayle: TR27
Goonhilly: TR12
St Ives: TR26
Really need to cross reference those against something like upmystreet for the area I guess.
Random Quote found:Kerrier is the most southerly district in England, covering an area of some 183 square miles, and stretching between the north and south coasts of Cornwall. It has a resident population of approximately 96,200 and three principal towns: Camborne, Redruth and Helston. The district of Kerrier has 20 wards served by 44 elected councillors, and the council employs approximately 400 people.
A large part of Kerrier has been designated as either an area of ‘outstanding natural beauty’ or as ‘heritage coast’. However, despite once being the richest mining area in the world, the area has seen steady decline over several decades and is now a regeneration priority for Cornwall. The area’s decline has led to low wages, high unemployment, derelict land and empty buildings. Some wards are amongst the most deprived in the UK. Problems of affordability and under-supply in the housing market are major challenges for the district.0 -
As others have said, contact Shelter, as they will help you:

Cornwall CAB will also be able to give you some advice:

LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

She chose Cornwall because of the support offered by her partners family. It's a shame that they don't live in some godforsaken hole in the North, but they don't.
Even though she mentioned there was his family there, only her nan seems to be helping, where is his family?0 -
If they've been to see lots of private lets & don't get them, maybe they don't present terribly well.
Landlords & their agents in Cornwall can be very fussy who they let to, as the demand far outstrips supply.
It seems that the OP needs to be doing more herself, not shrugging her shoulders & saying that the LA don't get back to her, the LL's won't let to her. She has a car, so maybe should go in & have a further housing advice interview, as the housing adviser will no doubt have given her information on how to secure a private let in the area. When she finds a let, she needs to take the paperwork to the housing adviser, who will set the ball rolling on getting the deposit sorted out.
Due to everything within LA's being results driven, I'm sure there's far more to this than the OP is telling us.
The B&B she was placed in was obviously a pretty good one, as in June she was going to hold her son's birthday party there, unless, her post concerning this actually meant, her house being her Nan's.
Why as well did the OP not ask for advice on here during all the months that she's been desperately seeking accommodation?
She's had internet access, as been posting about her comping.
It will be very interesting to see if she comes back to answer any of these questions. However I have a feeling that instead the next posts will again be about what she's won.
Hopefully she'll win big & be able to buy a house in Cornwall. Or maybe start selling her wins to fund her deposit.
She needs to be proactive, not think that because she drove to Cornwall that's her bit done & now it's down to every one else to sort out her chaotic lifestyle.

why are we bothering to continue this thread.... OP obviously is not coming back ...Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

As I've said in other posts, the homeless route into re-housing isn't all roses and the LA are entitled to bid on her behalf for any suitable propertis available in their area, so she could be offered a property anywhere in Cornwall.0 -

Again, we can only take the OP at face value. Anything else would be supposition.0
