Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Wednesday 14th July. 2010. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
[*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just fine.
Good Morning all and to any of our French neighbours have a good Bastille day.My brother lives in France and telephoned me to ask how I am getting on this week. Its 7 years since I lost my lovely OH and because he lives so far from me he worries that I am o.k..But I assured him that all is well and I am jogging along as usual.I have had my friend June from Dartford here this week and she goes home this afternoon. She has been brilliant and has so far put together a new set of bookcases for me and shortened my nets in the sitting room .She and I have been jawing almost non-stop since Monday and she has kept me busy.We even made some Christmas card yesterday afternoon as we had sorted out all of my crafting stuff.I woke early this morning with blooming cramp in my calf muscle and once awake just couldn't get back to sleep as it was light and the sun was struggling to get up.its still a bit murky looking but at least not raining.I hope everyone is o.k. and we are halfway through another week already .The time just seems to be flying at the moment. Four weeks friday till my holidays.have a good and productive day everyone

Hi Jackie and all who follow.
Ah JackieO - just seen your message after I posted. I had thought that you'd raied the sticky and I didn't notice your writing in blue.My thoughts are with you. (((hugs)))
Don't know if I'm having an early morning or more of a sleepless night. My younger dog snaffled something in the park last night and has been really unsettled all night and finally threw up half an hour ago. Mightily. Hope that is it out of her system.
Could have done with a good sleep as I saw my DS yesterday and he didn't look as well as he has lately. He had a bad year with depression last year and didn't finish uni. This year has seen him vastly improve but he has had a few issueslately with his dad, my ex, and it seems to have sparked a downturn. I'm meeting him for lunch today and hope he looks better. it's very hard.
Not much OS planned today as this will be a survival day after little sleep and a heap of worry. Seems like one thing on top of another at the moment but I'm trying to just greet each thing calmly:cool:. Me having a wobbly won't make things better.
Off for another mug of hot sweet tea. It seems to be doing the trick in making me feel a bit more human.
Have a good day folks. Will pop back in later to see what you're all up to:p

Very little else to report. Been working lates so spending money on pizza and KFC. Pay Day tomorrow, so fill the bank up again...
CheersNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning all
Hugs to WMF & JackieO, also to those who are MIA.
I made lemon curd & tiffin last night, they both turned out well, I post the details on my blog tonight after work.
We had Jerk Chicken for tea last night & will have gammon & new potatoes for tea tonight.
It's work experience week this week, which means I have a 'helper' every day, I've put my foot down though & will only have one at a time, not 4 or 6 as they have dumped on me in previous years.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Not as hot here again today, looks like it might brighten up later on, off to work today, so need to tidy round before I go.
We ment dd's 'friend' at the station yesterday, and as his surname was Snape, I dressed as Harry Potter, I drew a scar on my head, and took a wooden spoon as a wand, I did feel a bit daft sat outside the station, but it broke the ice, poor boy looked dumbfounded though :rotfl:he seems like a really nice boy, doing very well at school, and was very chatty with me, which are all good signs, he has been very well bought up :T
Something with steak tonight, I got it YS a while ago, will do OH wedges, and brocili, and I will have the never ending salad (yawn)
OH back is much better this morning, not so much trouble getting out of bed, another few days and he will be back to 'normal'
I need to put the rubbish, recycling and garden waste out today, why do they do it all at once ???
Jackie O thinking of you this week xx
I was also thinking of Topsy, whose wedding is this Saturday I think, hope she is ok, and all goes well xx
OK better get on, have good days all xx0 -

Have boxing tonight so easy early dinner - will have a look in the freezer in a while.
Catch you later.x0 -
moring all!
wet here atm. WM is on but if it doesn't brighten up I'll have to hang it indoors. Day off again for me:j felt very drained yesterday and needed a nap in the afternoon - not sure why although my throat glands are a little tender so maybe I have a virus or something. Haick blitz of the house. Got a little ironing for later. This morning I'm cleaning at Mums. Hope to get my feet up with my book later.

Good Morning Everyone.
Thinking of you, jackieO .
Wmf - ((HUGS)) for you too, sounds like we have a few worries in common re the DSs. Survival days seem almost normal sometimes.
Redruby - how could you?! I'd have been shot if I'd ever tried anything quite like that! Sounds fun!
N9eav - we had a spate two years ago with two family funerals withing two weeks. Not good. Hope it passes as well as possible.
Am determined to get off the laptop quickly - my life is becoming more and more virtual!
OS today? Well 2 loads of washing on line, bread and banana loaf to make later. Sewing on the horizon too. Also visit to the library - books to return before the fine is due! Not sure about supper yet, but hopefully something out of the freezer.
Hope you all have a good day.Resolution:

Morning All
Got all my MS work done yesterday and took DH to the Port for his work - was shattered by the time we got back. I think I might just take myself off to the kitchen today and [STRIKE]hide from the kids[/STRIKE] do some batch cooking. We had planned a day in our PJs but I have a feeling that involves DH just sleeping most of it.
Feel a bit grouchy today - hope it wears off. Don't intend to go far if anywhere today so hopefully I won't spend any money as we've plenty of everything in.
Be back later, have a good day xClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

I bet he was dumbfounded! I just read that to my DD (17) and she said that was the funniest thing she had ever heard that a mother would do!! Anyway he will remember you and DD for the rest of his life so thats gotta be good:T:T:TI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
