Basically the ultimate aim is to be at zero by my 40th (August 2013), however this will only be theoretical as I will get a penalty if I actually pay it all off before the 5 yr fix is up (2014), so as long as I can balance the mortgage against my savings then that is good enough for me and I will actually clear it once I am allowed.
I will set goals at the end of his year but I reckon it will be something like;
end of 2010: £32k
end of 2011: £22k
end of 2012: £12k
July 2013: £5k
August 2013: £0 (isa's = approx £5k)
wow that is a great goal to aim for.....shows the power of putting every penny against a mortgage..:rotfl:so glad your summer is ending on such positive notes0 -

BB, which calculator do you use that shows you when you are knocking months off the mortgage?
It seems a really good motivator to see the months dropping off. I use the whats the cost one but I dont think it does that?

Morning all
Well this morning I weighed myself and the scales have gone back up to 11 stone :eek: :eek: Tbh I knew it was there or thereabouts as my clothes are getting tighter again. So, I have been for a nice walk, done 9000 steps already today and then had a breakfast of special k with natural yoghurt and mixed berries / melon
Now that I'm back at work I should hopefully find it easier to stick to my old pattern of eating / walking again. Yesterday I thought I had hardly walked anywhere but when I measured it I had done over 9000 steps so not too bad. I need to be doing 10,000+ every day
The rest of today involves posting an ebay parcel, doing a mystery shop, food shopping and a night out tonightOff now for a shower.
