    Could today get much better? I've often tried to track down a friend from college who I lost touch with but never have found her (have searched on f/b loads of times for her), anyway last night I had a really vivid dream about finding her on facebook so this morning the first thing I did was look for her on there and she was the first one who popped up under her name (quite a normal name so lots of them on there). I sent her a message on there and she replied and she lives in London but is down this way at the weekend so we're going to try to meet up on sunday or monday :D:D

    My aim is to down to £32k by the end of 2010 and then I need to look carefully at it. Basically the ultimate aim is to be at zero by my 40th (August 2013), however this will only be theoretical as I will get a penalty if I actually pay it all off before the 5 yr fix is up (2014), so as long as I can balance the mortgage against my savings then that is good enough for me and I will actually clear it once I am allowed.

    I will set goals at the end of his year but I reckon it will be something like;

    end of 2010: £32k
    end of 2011: £22k
    end of 2012: £12k
    July 2013: £5k
    August 2013: £0 (isa's = approx £5k)
    Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000
    Mortgage Overpayments Pot £1587
  • Brilliant news on the maintenance payment BB, and well done on getting the mortgage down further. Hope your first day back to work goes well, my DS1 and DS2 both go back to school on Monday, the hols have gone so quick.
