I know I don't post very often but I do read everyday! Just never really know what to say.
Anyway I'm sure things will work out for you Benben, they seem to have done for me but sometimes it all takes longer than we hoped for.
Right time for this tipsy girl to go to bed - too many coffees (well it was glasses of the Hint of Coffee Baileys)!
Enjoy the rest of half term.
Love

Thanks RCP, hope you enjoyed your day too and Pinklady. I had a nice day out with my son, lunch and shopping and a glass of wine later on

Hmm, not quite the afternoon I had planned ... we were getting ready to gout when ds decided he didn't want to go. After much "get your shoes on and do as you're told..." he lost the plot, grabbed my 2 x £20 Next vouchers I was waiting to post and ripped them both in half  Cue me chucking him in the car and taking him to my mums, I needed to be away from him for him to calm down. Once we were there he was remorseful and sorry etc, but this keeps happening again
I don't know if some of it is to do with his dad as I have now told him about whats going on, although I told him a couple of weeks ago and its only the last day or two he's got worse
So I'm hoping if I sellotape them back together and write a note to explin they got ripped by accident that they may still accept them, if not thats £40 gone  He has had his ipod and ds taken away for a week.
Eventually he calmed down at mums and we came back and went to the bank and the library and he's now playing quite calmy and happily.Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Hugs to you both Benben. Could his dad have said anything to him at the weekend? Don't know what to suggest - sorry.0

I don't think his dad would have said anything, he never discusses anything with ds
I think he's very very tired and just lost the plot. An earlier night is planned for tonight! We did go to Blockbusters and got a dvd and a Wii game for the weekend, although he is watching the dvd already. I told him he had to have his bath first and get his pj's on which he did with no arguments at all, so maybe the message is starting to get through to him about following instructions

Bah postie has just been ...
In January I was supposed to do my self-assessment but then had a letter from HMRC saying that as I had done my estimated income they would use those figures unless I completed it by Jan 31st. Anyway, as those figures were accurate I left it. Today I've received a bill for £100 for non-completion!!  You have to write to them to appeal, so thats another thing for my list later, I still have the other letter they sent me that clearly says they will use the figures I'd given them so am hoping that will be enough for them to waive it  Really don't need a £100 bill right now ...Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Grrrrrr:mad: How very frustrating...hopefully the letter you have will be proof of what you were told, but it's still just a hassle you could do without isn't it?!
Sorry to hear about ds and your next vouchers...hope he's ok this weekend. I saw your pics on fb, he was loving the dancing...but most disappointed there were no pics of you having a bop:rotfl: And I LOVE your sofa...your lounge looks very lovely, I want the velux windows:D
Have a good swim:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I've googled about the hmrc stuff and I think the letter about the estiamtes may have been from tax credits? But they all look the same, they all have the same HMRC headed paper? Hmm, will see but I will be livid if I have to pay, I only made about £250 profit in total last year anyway!
Thankyou Milly, I should have tidied up a bit though before taking the pics, there was stuff all over the sofa
I have those windows in my bedroom and kitchen too, I love them, they let in sooo much light, am not overlooked either so don't need to shut the blinds
So, we've been out and done day one, week one of the couch potato - 5K programme :j :j It was actually really easy today, this week we have to do 30 seconds of jogging / 1.5 mins of walking for 20 minutes. Ds managed to keep up although he got a stitch near the end and was getting whingy then
We have to do the same again on monday and wednesday and thats it for week one
I'm pleased that we've made a start on it anyway, hopefully this time I will actually learn to run, I've never managed more than a few metres without collapsing in a red sweaty heap before, but Hypno and Pania inspire me to give it another go, I love the idea of going out for a nice run, great for the weightloss, free, and always good for clearing the mind

BB, I think you're right regarding the HMRC letters. I'm self-employed and get WTC and they use the phrase "we'll use last year's figures" in the bumph they send through.... have a feeling you've got them mixed up, sorry!
I'm pretty sure that if your profit is below a certain level, they either postpone or cancel the £100 fee. I had a year recently where I was late filing and they waived the fee because my profit was so low (might have even been so low, it was a loss!!).
Hope your weekend turns out better than mine is. I collected the twins from their mums yesterday and five minutes back, I was queued behind a car turning right when a car ploughed into the car behind me, shunting it into the back of me and pushing me into the car in front. Result was my car and the car behind almost certainly written off....:(
