The flat is now all clean and sparkly (except part of ds bedroom), my eyebrows are once again under control
, the chicken is roasting nicely in the oven and ds should be home in about ten minutes
I have also managed to sort through one cupboard and have found 4 brand new bottles of moisturiser in there and 2 bottles of shower gel, so at least I won't be needing to buy any of those for a whileI also remembered seeing a pack of loo rolls in the boot of the car (no idea why!) as well as one in the airing cupboard, so again won't be needing to stock up there for a while either
I want to figure out the meal plan for this week next, hopefully I'll get it sorted before ds comes running through the doorMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

I am by no means an expert but have just started buying fruit and veg from a greengrocers, its so much cheaper than Tesco's.
Do you buy supermarket's own cereals? Sainsbury's and Tesco's both do Cheerios and Wheetabix not sure about the multigrain shapes though. Supermarket's own is so much cheaper and my kids don't notice the difference.0 -
I have tried tescos weetabix and they were awful, the milk just ran off them, leaving them still like cardboard
Ds has an acute sense of taste and can spot the difference with most foods, with sausage rolls he can tell whether they are from sainsburys and then won't touch them
I can get away with some own brand stuff but not cereal unfortunately. I decant it all into plastic tubs so it isn't that he even sees the boxes, but it goes to waste as I don't eat cereal more than once a year or so eitherMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Would frozen veg be better for the budget if you are finding that you are sometimes wasting the fresh stuff?0
-
Yep definitley would KM, but I only have the little icebox at the top of my fridge
It is currently crammed full, it has a bag of frozen peas, a bag of chips, smiley faces and some ice lollies and no room for anything else

Have you any room for maybe a small worktop freezer or a freezer in your garage? It would save you loads if you could batch cook and stok up on offers etc?0

KM I have been umming and aahing over one of those for ages, maybe with my nans money, but its where to put it; there is no electricity in the garage (and its 2 flights of stairs away
), I could put it in my bedroom but am concerned how noisy it would be? Also the tabletop ones I've seen are basically not much bigger than the icebox I've got, so wouldn'e necessarily make much extra space? I will look into it further though and may get one in half-term, as then I could also buy frozen chicken pieces etc rather than always having to buy fresh
Elidee ... I remember seeing them mentioned on here but forgot all about it when I went to poundland yesterday :wall:Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000
