Tootallulah - thanks for the ideas, will add them to the list and please keep posting !!

Chev - In some ways its worse knowing how hard Shred is
So, I've done the shopping, spent £43 in Sainsburys, not too bad I reckon, and that included a couple of bits and pieces for Christmas.
Then I went into M&S and picked up a calendar and diary (50% off) that was out of stock when I ordered online. Next stop was Lakeland where I got mum a teapot, a milk jug and a biscuit barrel that she wanted, and they were on 3 for 2 so saved me £9 there
Finally I stopped off at Currys and PC World, where I picked up a 'Design your own legoland' pc game for ds stocking using one £5 voucher and then a Ratotouille pc game and an electric hand mixer for the grand sum of 15p once my voucher was deducted :T :T Fabulous bargains!!
Now sitting down to watch the last Grand Prix before ds comes home

Been thinking some more about this weekend, I have been much more productive this weekend than I normally am when ds is away. I think this is partly because of everything going on with the ex and my feelings of lacking control over several aspects of my life recently; however, my flat is something I can control and therefore I have blitzed it this weekend and am feeling much better for doing so. The other area of my life that ultimately I can control is my weight.
Earlier in the year I managed to drop from 12 stone down to 10 stone 5lbs. However, once everything kicked off I lost the motivation to stick to it and am now back up to 11 stone 6lbs
Now while I know this was due to the stress of everything, I am the only one that can do anything about my weight, so the plan now is to blitz it from now until when we break up for Christmas (17th December). This gives me just over a month to focus on shifting a stone and then I can relax over the holidays and carry on again once we go back to school.
The plan then is to stick to my WW points, do the 30 day shred (I have 34 days so can have a maximum of 4 days off), grow my fingernails (yet again
) and generally make an effort with my appearance again

Re the Xmas Advent list - one thing I still do with my 2 (and they're bigger than your ds) is make sweety gifts to give to family at Xmas. We've made peppermint creams since they were tiny and wrapped them in little parcels of crepe paper, tied with gold ribbon. Easy to make, no cooking and taste yummy! In the last few years as they've got older we've made malteser cake (google the recipe, v easy) and truffles - all lovely little gifts!
This is the first year that neither of my 2 believe in Santa...dd2's now 11 and this year is at Secondary, so no Santa:( I'm still making her do all the feeding reinderr, drink for Santa though;) It's just not the same with no Santa though:oI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Aww, I'm dreading that bit Milly, tbh I think ds has pretty much sussed it now but he still wants to believe just in case

I like the idea of making sweets, I need to update the list and also start planning whats gonna happen on which day, as lots of days in december we will both be at school and then have other things planned in already (swimming lessons, him visiting his dads at weekends etc), so some of the activities may get left out as I may not realistically have time for them all every day
I did think about an advent candle too but I am a bit paranoid about burning candles and also I remember having them as a kid and it was fine for the first day or two but then we used to have to burn about 12 days all at once on christmas eve :rotfl:
In other news, sailorman has deleted me from facebook
Have sent him a text asking why but hey, looks like my weightloss regime will have to be with someone else in mind

Its fab KM, pick up one of their gift guides (there or pc world), and on the back cover is a code. Type it in to their website and it tells you what you've won. 99.4% of prizes are £5 vouchers, just print it off and take it into the store and get whatever you want, no minimum spend
Its one per household (mum let me use her one too), and can be used in currys or pc world

I really miss my boys being little at Christmas, saying that even though they are 15 and 17 they still insist I read "The night before Christmas" poem when they are in bed on Christmas eve......I have to sit on the landing and read it to them both at the same time lol
Last year I started to cry while reading it
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0
