Me and my hubbie are very quick at stepping in and saying things to retaliate, I can see how upset you would be, cheeky m@re, lets hope she has the police knocking at her door. I would have confronted her and said "what do you mean by that" why on earth would the police be coming to see a model citizen like me ? How on earth does she know what your son will be like when he is older, she knows no more than what her daughter will be like when she is older. You should have told her to P155 off !

Morning all, so ds went to his dads at 9 this morning, I went shopping as I have to get a birthday present for a friend but couldn't find anything, so spent 70p on the car park and £30 on petrol but am hoping that will be enough to last til the end of the month, which would mean I have a spare £30 from the petrol budget to move into the daily living budget

So, the plan for the weekend is looking like this; this morning is a major housework morning, then this afternoon I want to get out all my xmas stuff and make a thorough list of everything I need to get, one of those jobs I can't do when ds is here. Tonight I'm looking forward to a nice night snuggled on the sofa watching xfactor / strictly, then tomorrow I am doing the food shop and must also get that birthday present.Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Forgot to mention I went to Currys and picked up a couple of their gift guides too, which have a great giveaway on the back cover, and basically each one gave me a free £5 voucher to be used at Currys or PC World, no minimum spend either, so will pop down there tomorrow and spend them too

Well I've been very productive and got loads done so far, all rooms are now tidy and clean :j There are still bits and pieces I want to do, like sort the pile on the dining table etc, but overall I'm pleased with progress so far.
I'm going to sort all the Christmas stuff next, and then later on I want to sort the hall cupboard, sort the kitchen cupboards and clean the fridge.
Just stopping for a quick mooch on here for ten minutes before I get out all the xmas stuff

Woohoo, I'm a girl on a mission today
I sorted out the christmas stuff, I know now exactly what I've got in the cupboards put away. Then I sorted out the airing cupboard, then the kitchen cupboards and took all the shelves and bits out of the fridge and have cleaned them all, just got the cupboard under the sink and the pots/pans cupboard to go :T
Decided to sit down for a while and listen to the footie on the radio, and update my xmas spreadsheet while I'm doing it. After that I'm going to finish those cupboards and then have a lovely bubble bath before strictly / xfactor fest

Another thing on todays list was to sort out my advent calendar idea for ds. Rather than putting a small gift in each of the pockets on his advent calendar I decided that this year we will do a christmas activity each day instead. I will write them all on little bits of paper and fold them and put them in the pockets. So far the list I have come up with is as follows;
- Make paper chains
- Make Christmas card for ds teacher
- Make paper snowflakes
- Watch the Snowman
- Watch the Polar Express
- Drive around looking at xmas lights at night
- Read the Night Before Christmas
- Read Christmas Poems
- Make mince pies
- Wrap christmas presents
- Decorate christmas tree
- visit Santa
- decorate christmas cake
- collect holly

Hi Benben, I'm an avid reader of your thread and am amazed at how good you are in all that you do - with your son, money saving etc. I love your idea about the advent calendar. Here's a good link with loads of different Christmas activities that may give you a few more ideas.
Keep up the good work x
Edited cos I can't post links, use with no spaces

Oh Benben, what about make reindeer dust to sprinkle outside on xmas eve, i use porridge oat and glitter, mix it together and then make little pouches of it up in cellophane/ribbon and a little label with instructions of what to do with it, maybe ben could make some and give the to his friends at school.0

wow - BenBen!! You get so much done! I need to do the Christmas thing too - will have to be on my list tomorrow - got a few bits in Home Bargains today for stockings - not getting much at all this year so need to make a good list of what I've got and what I'd like to get now and, key point, stick to it!! Otherwise we will have presents but no food to eat!
