So the day I've been expecting for a while now has finally come; the ex is now officially unemployed and claiming benefits and because he has ds overnight every other weekend I am not gonna get a penny from him anymore   If he didn't have him overnight I would get a fiver a week, big deal, but at least its better than none. So I feel penalised for letting him have him overnight
Not only that, but the arrears he owes me for this month (£295) can''t be claimed until he's employed again, they can't claim arrears from people on benefits

I'm so so so sick of this situation. I'm just hoping the final part of it all goes the way I'm praying for  Roll on 2011 ...Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

So sorry bb - at least your son has one hardworking and financially savvy parent - I think you are a wonderful Mum too :kisses3:Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Thank you Ellidee, I'm just having a down day
Time to start thinking up a new master plan for some extra pennies  Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Oh sweets that's pants.... at least know you know not to expect anything from him but I know that doesn't help day to day. I'm sure with your moneymaking skills you'll both be fine. And I'll keep everything crossed justice is served and he'll pay the price for it!"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Edmund Burke

Aww I so know how you feel...my ex has just got a job, started yesterday so was unemployed for about a month - typically he lost the job the week before my money was due:mad: So he just assumes he won't give me anything. What really gets me though is when he takes the girls to town when he has them and buys himself a cd:eek: He still owes me £50 from the school trips girls went on in the summer - I paid the whole £600 myslef and he paid me as and when he had it. I bought all their new uniforms as dd2 started secondary and they changed dd1's so she needed lots. Obviously in Oct I had no maintenance plus I pay all of their clubs....
And I'm a TA like you...so you know we hardly earn much:mad: It does just seem bl00dy unfair all the time doesn't it? They just know that us mothers will give up anything for the kids, and just have to get on with it. He sees them a fair bit I guess, every other weekend and decides to pop in if he's around...oh joy;)
Also...my numpty ex only gives me £200 a month and I have 2 girls...and he still cant even afford that. He reckons the new job is much better paid...so glad he told me that cos I expect more than £200 a month now;);)
So...I've rambled on....but I just wanted you to know that I so understand where you're coming from and share the frustrations.....grrrrrr to useless fathers:mad::mad:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Thankyou guys, I think its got to me cos i know its not a short-term blip either, this is gonna be it for the foreseeable now, guess I'd better get used to being totally on my own in the parenting game. I mean, I know I have been for years, but the one thing I've always said was the only decent bit about him was that he always paid his maintenance for ds ... now thats no longer true, in fact it looks like its not been true for quite a long time actually   But I'm still gonna do the decent thing and let ds go and stay there, even though he does not deserve to spend one minute with ds, I have to think that its what ds wants to do
