Learning difficulties could include shouting for hours on end, tourettes, innapropriate touching, etc. Etc. You just don't know whether they could get worse due to physical problems and your house would be unsaleable.0

This person is posting on more than 1 thread about this and gets the same answers
1) don't be so judgemental
2) if it really puts you off don't buy
3) the main issue would be it is a working as well as living environment and there may be traffic/noise issues with that
Thye haven't posted enough to get good advice (e.g. is it cheaper/bigger/better location than other stuff?) so until then let them live in their own world!Give yourself a Chistmas bonus £14 a week!
Total so far £280 -

I used to work in a home for adults with learning disabilities and honestly, I couldn't imagine better neighbours. Security was great because the house was staffed 24 hours - I know, I spent nights there myself, working and we'd hear if there was any trouble in the area. The next-door neighbours told us that they had tried to oppose the home being set up when they heard but they were thrilled by the outcome in the end and felt it made the area much better.
Adults with learning disabilities in a group home setting are going to have staff who are trained and experienced around all times of day and night and therefore you are at much less risk than in an 'average' house in a street..0 -
a home with occupants with learning difficulties that need 24 hr care and you have a 2 and 5 year old.thats my predicament and im scared my kids would freek out at the sight of them as they do look quite severe
cheers
Big deal - so what? I've had some real nightmare neighbours in my time; people who would party until 4am, scream and bang on walls. I then had an idiot who left his two labradors in the garden and did nothing when they barked all night.
As long as the neighbours are not noisy or cause a nuisance, what are you worried about? What's the big issue?0 -

I was just thinking exactly the same. I'd trade my sane but pigheaded neighbour who thinks it is ok to light bonfires at 4am on hot summer nights when everyone is sleeping with their windows open for a family with learning difficulties in a shot. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
