    Thats what we might have to do in the end.

    We converted the little videos, 10-20 secs fine. But when we went to convert the 100MB, 1min 47sec video, it was going to take over an hour to convert.

    At that point we aborted.

    At least we tried.

    I'm shocked that you would go to all that trouble when you could zip them up and upload them securely once for distribution.

    The hour of encoding it would save you much more than an hour of uploading.

    Honestly, it's all a bit of a palaver over nothing.
    Conversion will probably mean she couldn't use the machine as it just slowed everything down. Which is probably why she abandoned it in the first place. Uploading simply isn't as resource intensive.
    Either way it's a storm in a teacup.
    Personally, data limits permitting, I would prefer to receive a top quality archive of priceless moments.. over worrying about the time it takes to upload.

    Hi all. Just want some advice along similar lines to this thread. Is there free software i can use to convert my flip hd filiming into something I can use in Windows Movie Maker? Preferably w/o a drop in the video quality? Thanks in advance
