Yes, but they appear to complain about the video being reduced in size. Maybe I misinterpreted it.it just squashes the picture to 720x 564 in size
In addition, I don't think that videos to YouTube/DailyMotion and the like are limited by size, but by time. So uploading the video there won't be a problem if quality is not an issue.
Also the OP should check to see if there is a lower quality setting on the camcorder.0 -
Your right Mr Geek.
I only have a few small sample videos of the family, both are of the children, mainly running around the garden, in & out of the pool etc. The youngest (2) never ever keeps his shorts on, so is pretty much butt-cheek naked.
Both of these videos can't be uploaded to a filesharing website.
We dont live on the uk mainland, we wanted to compress the files to .avi then email them through hotmail back to family members.0 -

Maybe you are confused. Unless you publish the link on the Internet or give the link to someone, there is no way anyone can or will want to, access your link and therefore the video.
In addition to this, if you sign into the filehosting service before uploading you can delete the video/link after it has been downloaded by your chosen recipients.
If you are still nervous by this, you can use WinRAR to create a password locked self extracting archive(easier than it sounds) for the videos. Then only the people supplied with the password will be able to open the locked box. Even if they could find a link for your video in the first place.
Anyway I think Hotmail maximum attachment size is 10MB. In reality that means your file would have to be less than 9MB in size.0 -
You'd really have to use Staxrip or something to resize then Alias_Omega.
XviD+MP3 in a .avi
1200kbps for video, 128kbps for audio
resize down to 720*576
deinterlace if necessary, and crop out any black bars around the edges.
This'll get it down to less than 10MB/minute, much more manageable. The files will still be pretty large, too large to email without splitting them up. Once you've converted them down to the smaller size you'll probably have to split them into 10MB chunks using winrar or something similar, to be rejoined at the other end.
It'd be easier to use http://www.youshare.com/ or something similar, rather than emailing the files. You might find that if your net connection's a little unstable you'll have to split the files anyway. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
In the time it has taken this thread to run it's course, the videos would have been uploaded and distributed. Of course if you have an Upload/Download limit imposed by your ISP, you should consider converting. But you'll still have to use a FileHosting service if you want to save the frazzling of family brains as the files may still be too large for email.
Here, try MediaCoder0 -
We don't know how many videos there currently are, how many there will be in future, or how long the videos are.
On the average UK upload speed, which has to be a half megabit at most, a minute of video at the original size will take ~15 minutes to upload. And the recipient could have a download limit, it's not just the sender.
Better to work out the proper way to do things now, rather than have to do it again. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Am interested in this thread as I have flip mino hd -4GB,1 hour HD- with only one mode of filming.
I've just ordered kodak zx1 as this has 3 modes for vid capture incl. an avi mode and has removable sd card storage.
Suppose you could burn to dvd and post it in near stone-age fashion!0 -
Yes Spakkker,
Thats what we might have to do in the end.
We converted the little videos, 10-20 secs fine. But when we went to convert the 100MB, 1min 47sec video, it was going to take over an hour to convert.
At that point we aborted.
At least we tried.0
