Best payg data sim with low or no line rental charge?

I make very few voice calls or texts and mostly just use my phone for email and a small amount of web browsing.

I want a sim that has NO lock-in period (1 month is OK but no more!) and has NO line rental so that I only pay for the actual voice, text and data used.

02 do "simplicity" sims but these have a £10 per month line rental charge.

The only deal i've found with lower line rental is AAISP who charge £2+vat per month line rental and then 2.5p+vat per MB of data used http://aaisp.net.uk/telecoms-mobile.html .

Just wondering if there are any other low line rental/no line rental sims out there?

Gosh, Andrews and Arnold, didn't know thet were still doing the rounds, I remember they had some good stuff for Orange users many years back, sadly the prices on the page do not appear competitive vs a regular PAYG or sim only, have you considered 3, sim zero?

I probably would not have heard of this AAISP sim apart from the fact that I use them for home broadband.

I could not find the "3 sim zero" link on 3's own site, but there are some other sites that talk about it, but they say it's 30p PER MEGABYTE!! There is no way anyone in their right mind would pay this amount for a single meg of data, but as I say this is not 3's own site so probably/hopefully a mis print.

How about Asda Mobile - calls 8ppm, texts 4p each and data 20p/Mb.

    or

    Three PAYG

Call costs 25ppm, texts 10p after your allowance included in each top up - 150Mb of dtata included with each top up.

    Really depends on your usage.

3 do a £5 sim on a one month rolling contract which gives 2GB data plus you just pay for the calls or texts that you use

or 3 payg might be better for you

a £10 top up gives you 300 texts and 150mb of data which lasts for 3 months also the £10 can be used at 25p per minute for calls (40 mins) or used to buy a voice bundle of 100 mins
    (lasts 30 days)

My usage varies a lot and some months I might use very little data, but other months more. 20p for one MB from Asda seems a lot though as I really don't want to pay more than about 3p max if possible.

at the minute i am on payg o2 and for 7.50 a month they have an unlimited web bolt on, i've had the bolt on for 3 months and had no problems :) oh plus they do different types of payg options http://www.o2.co.uk/explore/tariffs/paygo you just need to top up that amount per month (so it doesn't take your credit off you for it- so basically you could have unlimited internet and 50 off peak minutes for £10 a month)

Thanks, £5 per month from 3 seems a fair line rental if it includes 1GB data (the link seems to say 1GB rather than 2GB) http://threestore.three.co.uk/dealsummary.aspx?offercode=1SO0D003&id=1183

I don't know how 02 can justify charging £10 for only 500mb ("simplicity") which is 4x the cost per MB of the 3 deal!

It looks like you can pay £5 per month for "unlimited" internet, but it goes back to £10 next month which is more than I'm prepared to pay (as I use very little data some months).

I would say AAISP were responsible for email on mobile phones , I have a 3 sim zero card, the guy in supadrug told me about it (they are 3 agents) I was wary as i could get 1gb for £5 per month and cancel when I want and start again when I felt, they have done me well as my wifi dongle was £40 and allowed me to watch the world cup on my Satio as the Satio only allows streaming via a wifi connection. But back to the sim zero, you can cap the allowances so you don't break your call /text or data allowances :j
