I can understand why, and see nickyhutch's point.
We were buyimg things from the shop on the site, so its not like they were missing out completely. The adults would still buy from the bar, but the kids , especially the youngest who was still just about in his pushchair preferred their own juice and pop to what was sold in the bars.
The door staff didnt exactly search the bags but it was fairly obvious what was in them. So we got round it by piling everything into the bottom of the pushchair and covering it over with coats until we got inside
I recently came back from Combe Haven - Haven & many many people took there own food & drinks into the club nothing was ever said, I even brought three bottles of wine for £12 in iceland & took a bottle each night into the club, They even gave me a wine glass when i asked lol, When you have kids you really need to take drinks & crisps for them cause the prices are usually pretty high & the way kids go through drinks is just unbelievable lol
I went to Butlins at Bognor Regis twice last year & both times people were bringing there own nothing said again, Some of these sites are being unreasonable if they wont let you bring in drinks ect for the kids, These parks must be making a fortune.0 -
camber sands is great. not the pontins, which wasnt great, but the other holiday/caravan park there. excellent facilities, brilliant pool and a stones throw from a fantastic sandy beach.
all the while our kids were growing up, we always did the sun holidays twice a year. and always camber sands.0 -
We went to Newquay Holiday Park which is a Parkdean park, we had a lovely caravan, lovely park, entertainment was ok, shop was quite reasonable and we had a lovely meal, and it wasn't too expensive and portions were huge, you can also get takeaway from there too, which is what we did on the first night we arrived, couple of pizza's and a bag of chips. The park only has an outdoor swimming pool, which we weren't brave enough to try and the park is on a steep hill, so if you have any mobility issues it may not be the park for you. We were situated in the Meadows area of the park which is right at the back, by the end of the week our legs were aching from walking up the hill each night0

we just come back from Killigarth Manor {Polperro}...wont be going again.
The entertainment was ok but rather short with us because the kids didnt join in with the shouting...there was only about 5 kids on the dancefloor dancing and when they broought out the girl rabbit {sorry cant rememebr her name} for cuddles and photo, by the time I managed to get my 2yo daughter's courage up they decided to go and wouldnt stop for her!....the next day there was my 2 sons and 1 other boy and as they were dancing again 1 of the entertainers were askign them to shout out something at a particular time, but none of the 3 did { i dont think they heard properly as she wasnt that clear to speak over loud music}..and she said is it worth me carrying on!.
It was nearly remote and had to travel to get to places which is half the fun which we didnt mind, oh and the weather was naff which isnt the parks fault!
but overall I would not be going back there.
I have been to the newquay one and Wollocombe bay one and agree with both when they say not much to do {woloocombe} and quite high up {newquay}...but its all experience. Can't think of anything funny to put here!

Have been to Rockley Park was fantastic although was a few years ago and would love to go again
Devon Cliffs wass great but a bit too big for our liking slighlty less personal
Haven Hopton was good have been twice only reason didn't choose it this time is its a long journey for us
Pontins at CamberSands was awful dated facilities, awful entertainment, pool was disgusting and bad disabled access to entertainment but that night have changed as it was a few years ago
Have put
1: Bognor as my kids will love Butlins
2: Rockley Park
3: Haven Coombe Haven
4: Haven Church Farm
5: Haven Weymouth Bay
We always take our own food for kids, bottoms of buggys are great for thisThese places make a fortune from us on arcade machines and merchandise and meals so why shouldn't we provide our own snakcs for kids it's either that or we don't bother going to the entertainment and have a cheap bottle of wine and our own supermarket food at the caravan

We went to Haven - Combe Haven for the May bank holiday week & had a great time i would totally recommend this park0 -
Have cut and pasted my review from another similar thread....
Haven Devon Cliffs - Love this site (handy for us 50 miles away), Havens showcase site and always well invested in. Massive so loads of entertainment if you like that sort of thing, our children are young enough to love it. Big indoor/outdoor pool with slides etc, but very busy and quite noisy (they have a really nice and dead quiet pool for owners if you can find a way of getting in there!). Nice Spa if you fancy a treat. Beach is nice, although sea-weedy if the tides aren't with you. Have always had a lovely caravan, often been upgraded which is always a bonus. Would highly recommend, but perhaps not if you like a quiet life.
East Devon is beautiful and there is so much to do around Exmouth. I would recommend a day at Bicton for young children and you can go there with Tesco clubcard deals. Plenty of other beaches around if you fancy a change.
Parkdean Challaborough bay - Stayed here in May. Very pleased with our break, a nice contrast to Haven Devon Cliffs as the small site was quiet and peaceful. Had an upgraded caravan which was clean and nice, we appreciated the extra room. We couldn't have got much closer to the entertainment and beach, both within 20m. Really handy to have the beach so close. Nice staff but limited facilities. We had the childrens entertainer to ourselves when we went in the day and didn't go to the evening entertainment 'til the last night, which I regretted as our 2 year old loved it. Nice pool, again, very quiet. Will definately go back.
We went to Pennywell Farm and our 2 year old has been having imaginary trips there ever since.
Parkdean Mullion, Cornwall - Weren't keen on this one. The caravan was pokey and quite grubby, just not that new I guess. We had our travel cot in the sitting room as no other space. The site was small with not a lot going on. The pool was ok. No beach on site, but lots of lovely coast nearby. A really nice part of cornwall to investigate, but we won't be staying at Mullion again.
Ww wanted Haven Perran sands this time but it was not available the week we wanted (even though I booked before the last token came out). Booked the Hendra instead, hope it's nice! Should be judging by the reviews. :O)0 -
My family love Devon Cliffs - we book it as our main holiday though seperate to the Sun deals.
We went to Haggerston Castle (Haven) last year, we upgraded so the caravan was ok, but there wasn't much for a 2.5 year old to do, apart from swimming which was limited to an hour after being issued with a pager.
The entertainment room wasn't big enough, all the tables were taken by 5.30pm.
The area itself is gorgeous though, Berwick is a lovely town.
The only positive I found at Haggerston was the riding stables it meant I had the opportunity to introduce my DD to ponies.
We're off to Park Resorts Camarthen Bay at the beginning of September.Proud to be dealing with my debts
DD Katie born April 2007!
3 years 9 months and proud of it

Been to Hafyn Y Mor-North Wales-Haven a few times now......Would definitely recommend---Always been clean, comfy, friendly (expect typically high prices once there) but, great for all ages-especially if the weather`s kind!
Tried Prestatyn Pontins...........Suited us for the weekend but, personally will be looking to go with Haven again next time as we preferred Haven for cleanliness, comfort etc altho the entertainment at Pontins was better we felt. It depends what you`re looking for from a holiday really.0
