Do toad in the hole but cut the sausages into small chunks first. With mash, veg and gravy it should streeetch. Hth :)

This is exactly what we are having for tea tonight and I find a great MSE way to sue little meat but stretch it.

I use a standard 12 space tin and put 1/3rd of a sausage in each with a little lard (I know! - I'm from Yorkshire). I put the Oven on to 200 deg C and cook them for 5-10 mins. I then pour over the 7p batter mix!

Serve this with mash and veg for a cheap tea. We each have three of the toads so you need 1 sausage per person.

    Hope this helps. :A

    1. Sausage Cas
    2. Spag and Meatballs
    3. Toad in the hole
    4. Sausage Omlette
    5. Sausage curry
    6. Sausage stir fry
    7. Chilli con sausage!

    etc.. :A

If you have potatoes knocking around and cabbage I do a delia inspired dish where you roughly chop onion and an apple fry off lightly mix with cabbage chopped and place in casserole dish with white wine and spices of your choosing, I love nutmeg and caraway seeds here. Slice the sausages and fry then layer over the cabbage. Finish with a layer of potato slices and cook on a losing heat for a long time. Two hours does mine nicely. I pop it at the bottom of the oven so the potatoes don't burn.
If you dont know where you are going... Any road will take you there :rotfl:

    Morning Lovelies

I am still inexperienced when it comes to forums so if this is in the wrong place please let me know!

We had a BBQ a couple of nights ago and now I have 6 sausages left over for tea tonight. I was going to do Sausage and Mash but as its so warm wanted to do something a little more summery if you know what I mean.

So was wondering what summery sausage recipes you all have and enjoy.

    Thanks in advance

Depends what you've got in but you could do a variation on sausage and mash. Instead of gravy and peas (or however you normally serve) do a big tray of roast veg in the oven (courgettes, peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and then potatoes of your choice or rice or pasta.

They wouldn't still be lurking in the fridge here... too many snaffle-fingered people inclined to graze from the fridge in passing! :rotfl:

Am so tempted to get a fridge alarm that oinks loudly when the door is opened!
