Making a record? Wash and dry a bottle. Partially fill with uncooked rice, or lentils, or pearl barley. Makes a great percussion instrument. When you've finished with it, the contents may be consumed.

My dogs love them as toys - they leap on them and the bottles spring away - hours of fun :D. Even when flat they love to pounce and slide on them.

WARNING - do not let your dogs chew them up :( and replace regularly.

    Hi all,

This school holiday I bought a big pack of E*ian water and have just washed the bottles and reused them repeatedly throughout the holiday - DH has just said that you shouldn't do this due to carcinogenics in the bottle. The label also says not to reuse, does anybody else do this?
    Thanks

In the last year my daughter was at primary school, they were given a water bottle (by the school). 3 weeks later we all got a letter home asking us to stop using them for just that reason.
I have found this strange as you can still buy character bottles in most of the leading supermarkets.
I only re-use a bottle for about a week and I always make sure it is completely clean and DRY before the re-use.

I reuse bottles for a week or two. I bought a bobble bottle but you can only take small mouthfuls and I chug like I've just come crawling out the desert :o

It's a load of twaddle. Here is what cancer uk have to say on the subject. Use your bottles again and again and be happy.
Bisphenol A was a bit of a scare a few years ago but that was for baby bottles. The wiki on BPA says most bottles made from plastics with the numbers 12456 in the triangle are not likely to contain BPA but 3 and 7 might. It's here if you fancy a read.

I re-use them all the time. I work in greenhouses everyday and hate the hot weather, so I can assure you I use and re-use a couple of bottles every day. I just wash them out at night and re-filll with dilute the next day.

The labels have usually faded before I throw them away.

the worst part for me is that i squeeze them and they eventually crack.... and flood my bag  i also carry tea bags in my handbag so have ended up with a bag full of tea on several occasions until i got something stronger and stopped reusing them until they broke :o

DH is a gardener and he reuses bottles for months and leaves them in the sun. He also smokes and drinks so I guess it's a race to see what kills him first!

TBH, you should be a LOT more worried about what is being added to the food you eat every day than what MAY get into your water.
