Fair enough. Many people would not be as mild mannered as yourself nor see why they should have to pay to park on their own property, so top marks to you.

Now what about the ambulance bay blokie.

I didn't mean to thank you.

I would not be "paying to park on my property" . If you follow that logic then, by buying a front door I am "paying to live in my house".

What other "scenarios" are you dreaming up. What to do if a flying saucer lands on my property? or my garden is invaded by a herd of elephants?

Why can't people answer a few simple scenarios??

What you think of as 'simple scenarios', is my idea of barking mad.

Thanks for the thanks, even if not meant; we really need an un-thanks button.

Of course you're paying, you've been out and bought and installed a bollard, and then of course several times every single day you're wasting your time/money getting out of car to raise or lower said bollard.

Flying saucer, now that's just plain silly...for a start where would one put the clamp??

OK, I accept you're not going to answer the 'persistent ignorant I know my rights offender' scenario....which is a shame.

A scenario isn't an interrogative statement , as such it does not require or qualify for an 'answer'.

What "time and money " would I be wasting and why is it different from buying a new front door?

Er, the getting in and out of your car to move the bollard.

You have a front door for reasons other than just keeping people out [keeping warmth in/cold out].

the point I'm making/you're possibly missing is that many people wouldn't be quite as laissez faire about things as you are. You obviously see nothing wrong with having to buy, install and operate a bollard to stop a complete moron parking on your personal property; I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that you might be in a minority - many people would be rather more irate and would see clamping [with reasonable warning etc] as a way of stopping it.

If everyone had your chilled apporach the world would be a better place.

Yeah man, park wherever you want, don't buy any tickets everand don't pay any charges..... seems sensible enough to me.

    Thanks for that.....

Moving on, do you fancy having a stab at what to do with the 'persistent I know my rights offender'???

Which is no different to those many people who have a gate at the end of their driveway, and have to get out of the car to open it before they can drive onto their property, or have to get out of their car to open the garage door.

I think you will find that nobody on here advocates not buying a legitimate parking ticket. What they do object to is the stupid and excessive demands from the PPCs if you break their "rules."
