Why?

Why does a person want to go to work each day knowing they are trying to extort money out of people?

What makes these people tick?

Imagine going to bed of an evening and thinking how much can i make for my bosses tomorrow whilst i'm on minimum wage and conning people walking round a car park at aged 48 (or there abouts)?

People like clampers, if you can class them as people, why do they want to do that job?

Psychopaths are attracted to positions of power, sums them up reallly.

All who work for private parking companies. may you suffer every disease known to man. I mean it too. You make me sick.

Having said all that, what are people to do when they have muppets parking on their private land [despite signs asking them not to do so]???

What are supermarkets to do when commuters fill their car park because they are near the train station??

How do you deal with people abusing the blue badge spaces in private car parks??

And no bollards isn't suitable for all occasions; and anyway why should someone have to use a bollard just to keep their land free of muppets??

    Just an alternative view....

    To pay the mortgage?

    To pay the bills?

    To feed the children?

So they don't have to survive on benefits and get called a scrounger?

Maybe it's just a way to cover the bills/keep a roof over their heads/put food in their childrens mouths ?

I've always said I would do anything (legal) rather than be unemployed. If it was my only option (which fortunately it isn't), I'd do it.

I take you parked somewhere you shouldn't ??
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

Except that the blue-badge scheme does not apply to private car-parks.

Now you're really starting to worry me Oopsadaisy.

Anyone would think you do have an affinity with the dark side if you really believe all that twaddle.

The Supermarket question is easy, just impose a minimum spend and they'd make more money. Any Store Manager should realise that people who have parked there for the station are a 'captive audience' in terms of being potentially 'captive customers' EVERY DAY if you insist they have to shop there.

A supermarket near here has a min spend policy, there are unmanned (but very robust) barriers at the exit of the car park and if you've arrived by car you can only get out if you've had your entry ticket verified at the Supermarket till. Not rocket science is it?

And bollards or a gate/fence ARE the simple answer elsewhere. Ask landowners in Scotland who are coping very well without brainless tattooed clamping knuckle-draggers carrying out their protection racket on their land any more.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I know that...the point i was making was ..what is a landowner supposed to do when their land is being 'abused' by muppets??

Advice seems to be.......spend £100k on installing barriers and tickets systems and £25k a year maintaining it.

So if there are no rules on private land, then why are we whinging just at the 'invoicers/clampers' when many 'parkers/abusers' are as selfish as they are???

I'm at a loss as to what's wrong with putting up a sign saying 'Private land, no parking without permission' and expecting people to respect that, or alternatively to not whinge when they get 'caught' and get 'punished'.

I think you are way out on those costs. It doesn't cost anything like that to keep people off your land. For a start have you seen those individual drop-down bollards? they must be very cheap.

It certainly wouldn't cost £100k for barriers... And it certainly wouldn't cost £25k a year to maintain them.

here's an idea...engage your brain before operating your mouth(or in this case your keyboard.

The main whinge people have about clampers is the way they go about things. We have all heard the horror stories about people doing 3-point turns, changing a flat tyre etc all being clamped.
