The software firewall will help protect each PC on your network from each other. If one caught a worm, the others would probably catch the same worm in seconds, without a software firewall on each one.

The router firewall is doing the bulk of the protection from the outside world getting in, and your software firewall should never get an alert from the outside world.

If you have zone alarm etc, then it will warn you if something is trying to talk to the outside world, a useful feature if you don't answer allow to everything, pretty useless if you do.

That's just my personal preference

The important thing is the router Firewall. There are plenty of debates about how useful software Firewalls really are. I think they are somewhat useful and might be useful to the average user. Although most users probably just 'allow' everything making them pointless

My preference is to do everything possible to stop getting infected in the first place.

we have this and it was a nightmare however after entering a load of diff codes which you need to obtain from aol if it does not work its o.k. good luck
