Morning campers, I'm up bright and early. I think DH was so overcome with the fact that it was raining outside he just had to wake me up at 5.45ish and tell me.
. Then I had to get DDog Jet in as he was just standing on the lawn staring at the raindrops..lol. Obviously DH couldn't get him in for some reason..lol
Thank you to the usual suspects for the thread. Now Piggers I hope you have got plenty of lists lined up to send to someone while you are having Squeak - or are at least delegating to someone. We can't have you fussing over us when Squeak needs you.
Ooooh it's so lovely to have some rain, heck it's lovely to have lovely fresh air when I open the doors and windows..instead of the awful oppressive heat we have had since lord knows when. It's been so long I've forgotten when the awful heatwave started..lol
I can hear my plants outside squelching with joy at being rained on instead of having the hose on them every other night. It's not the same for them. Even the birds have come out to play this morning. We haven't seen hide or hair of any of them over the weekend - oh I tell a lie Mr Hoody (blackbird) was certainly telling the world how much he hated the heatwave, all over the weekend. Every time you looked out the window there he was sitting on a branch at the bottom of the garden singing for all his might his displeasure. He is now chirruping his usual morning song so I think he is happy.
Afraid I haven't really done anything over the weekend except wilt - it was way too hot to do anything even log onto the laptop. So I'm afraid I just slept, watched a bit of tv, listened to the radio and read my cookery mags/books. And I didn't even meal plan while I was reading, you would think with all my lovely mags I would do but to tell you the truth it was all too much of an effort. I think my brain had turned to mush.. Oh wait I did do the hoovering downstairs/stairs/landing - woah I wished I hadn't as I literally turned into a wilting sweating mush of a woman..lol
We had some odd dinners over the weekend as I really couldn't face up to cooking a roast, so I decided we would have meatballs in tomato sause with tagliatelle for our Sunday dinner, and fish finger salad for tea. I was mighty pleased with the tomato sauce I can tell you, it was a Natty special of chopped toms, mushrooms, onions and a shake of some spice mix I had. Turned out really nice and DH loved it, which is the main thing
Today I am hoping to pop to the local for some cherriesthis morning, as I have to pop to the library to pick up my cupcake books so thought I would do a wee detour - well that is after I have put some petrol in the car..lol I was going to make the cupcakes I have been saying I will make since last week, but not sure if I will today - depends on how hot it gets.
Toots - hugs and love honey xx
LL - I'm sorry I haven't texted the past few days, will get back into that now it's cooler. Hugs honey xx
Oooh Valli OH sounds adorable, now where did you pick find him from? I have a vague memory of you asking a workman out, is he the one?
Right on with the list after a cup of tea

i'm in again - it seems strange - 2 kids already in holiday mode - only me and OH still have to go to work!
still - I only have 2 weeks to go and then I can join them in relaxation mode......
decluttered an enormous amount of ironing yesterday - off to do some more when I've decluttered my porridge.
looking forward to the Open Golf this week - I hope the usual weather comes out to play - there is nothing I like more than watching Americans struggle with British golfing conditions (usu wind and rain!):jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Hi,
HHI done. Ds2 is awake, i need to wake Ds1 up and get in the shower. It would rain today when i'm probably going to have to walk the 3 miles to get Ds2 from nursery. I very much doubt my car will be ready in time. Oh well at least it won't be too hot.
Right i need to
Feed & let rabbits out
Feed, wash & dress Ds2
Shower, dress, hair & make up me
Shout at Ds1 to get out of bed for the 20th time
Make Ds1's lunch
I've got about an hour to do it in so i'd better get a wiggle on.0 -
