  • Hi all,

I've been doing a fair bit of sorting and have discovered that I was charged £30 by First Direct for going overdrawn on my account several years ago.

Should I simply ask them for it back or should I do the whole sheabang with the process on the reclaiming charges threads?

well - ask for it back first, then do the letters malarky from CAG - then think about court when you get to that stage. for £30 though, is it worth paying the £80 court fee?

I'm a little bit frustrated today, as one of the people I tutor payed me with a cheque last night - usually she pays cash, which means that it can go straight into my account - now I have to wait! I'm also being thwarted, because even though I get paid tomorrow and again on Friday, I can't really use any of the money to throw at debt, as I am going away for 3 weeks on holiday next Friday(before anyone picks on me for going on holiday and being in debt, it's to the family house in Greece, where I grew up. NOT to barbados - so it's actually just an international version of going to visit my folks) and will need the money available in my account 'just in case'. However, I've budgeted for the holiday, so fingers crossed, I'll have a lump sum to pay off the total when I get back! It's still annoying though, when what I actually want to do is pay all £523 currently in my current account off debt (even though £450 of it is rent and I owe the other £70 to my OH - so really I only have £3 I guess :rotfl:)
