Ok Thanks
Any particular site?
I will need to start using quidco more. But only really buy from Ebay. But Xmas will be with us soon so will get more use soon.
I really need to get this matched betting sink in because I like a little flutter and usually get some good tips.0 -
Hello Everyone!
Have just returned from sunning myself and caught up with this thread! Have to say, am slightly concerned that I’ve bitten off more than I can chew, as you guys are flying through this and there’s no way I’ll be able to keep up! However, I am the world’s worst loser, so at least this will be motivation for me to really start shifting this debt now.
So, at last, here are my totals:
Debt
Natwest Overdraft (£1,000 @ 0%) = £1,092.50
Natwest Graduate Loan (6.5%) = £2,260.93
Cahoot Car Loan (5.8%) = £4,201.72
Credit Card (NSPCC, 0%) = £2,370.00
Credit Card (Nationwide, 14%) = £23.51
Student Loan = £8,864.87
Credit
£1,007.16
[For those wondering why I have £1,000ish in credit as well as so much debt: 1) it includes my current a/c total so will go down over the month! 2) I have to pay £450 service charge twice a year and like to have this saved in advance 3) it also includes my flatmate’s deposit which I will need to pay back to her when she moves out.]
TOTAL = -£17,806.37
TOTAL PAID OFF SINCE START OF CHALLENGE = £729.44 :j
Goals for this week then:- Open an A&L current a/c through Quidco to get £50
- As it’s my birthday on Wednesday, a) try not to spend too much on going out, b) pay any birthday money I receive (expecting around £200) straight towards debt :A
- Investigate selling books on Amazon. Have read all the information on this thread (thanks guys!) and this sounds like something I could do (unlike matched betting which sounds soooooooo complicated!)
- Pay off Nationwide Cr Card

Ok so a good week last week, 3 of my auctions ended on Sunday netting me £130.00 :j with a further 10 auctions still running so hoping to generate some extra from those.
Current debt stands at £ 18657.22
Current amount saved to throw at it £445.80
New debt amount £18211.42
As I can pay off my capital one cc in full I will do it this week and then start making overpayments to the barclaycard cc.
As mentioned previously I can't make overpayments on the loan which makes up the bulk of the debt so will save enough to make a lump sum payment and reduce it in chunks like that !
Goals for this week
Pay off Capital one card in full and close account
List more items to sell on ebay
Post items which have been sold via ebay

Productive day yesterday as I've listed around 25 books on Green Metropolis. Found the fee/pricing system on Amazon quite confusing so am going to try this first - can always take them off GM for no fee if I work out Amazon later!.0

Well done guys and Gals on current savings.
This is really motivating me to do something about my debts.
I am waiting to start my new job in Dec to have a real crack at it because I will have more money coming in and be able to plan my month better.0 -
Hello everyone, hope we're all doing well.
Was my birthday yesterday :bdaycake: and did spend slightly too much on cakes for the office and booze..... ooops!
But, on the plus side, got £235 of birthday cheques which I'll put straight in bank a/c tomorrow, and also sold my first book on green metropolis! It may only be £3, but every little helps..... :j
Hope you're all having a good week.0 -
Happy Birthday Becs!!!You're powering on. Well done. I keep asking my OH for cheques instead of presents for my Birthday/ xmas, but he wont be said. He has the misguided notion that I should be given something frivolous for myself - he can't seem to see that by giving me money, he'd be giving me part of my life back, as I feel I can't really live freely until this debt is gone. Bless him for trying to think independantly though :rotfl:Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:
