I think all HK museums are free on Wednesdays.
If no-one in your family is afraid of heights, spend a day at Ocean Park. You need to take a cable-car ride (no extra charge) to get from one side of the park to the other side which is behind the mountain - stunning views. Its great for everyone - I thought the Pandas were soooo cute.
Oh - and pick up some of the tourist info booklets upon arrival at the airport. Some of them have vouchers in there for discount admission to various attractions (eg Ocean Park).0 -
Just found that you can buy an 'Octopus watch' instead of an 'Octopus card'.

Love HK, Sai Kung, Stanley Market and as OP said Ocean Park, Giant Pandas:j We regularly take our 4 kids to Hk always stay in City Gardens Hotel near North Point as my big bro lives at North Point. We usually get the bus from the airport or if you contact the hotel they can arrange to collect you.
Lantau is a must although we haven't been to the disney there. Haven't checked out Oasis air yet as usually fly BA or Emirates on specials.Usually head over there in October as the folks love Halloween and at Ocean Park there is usally a great party.
As for kids eating don't go all that way and eat McDonalds try the local food it's fab, there is also Pizza places and go up to The Peak and take in the lights fab.Panda on My Shoulder
If you can make it cheaper do so. If it's not reduced, in Primark, off ebay or free I can't have it :rotfl:0 -
If you want to go to Sai Kung, I recommend getting off at Diamond Hill MTR(Tube) and taking the no.92 Air Conditioned Double Decker Bus from Diamond Hill Bus Stn. only $5.5HKD/2.7HKD(37p Adult & 18p Chidren) There's a bus every 15mins. Takes around 35/40mins to reach Sai Kung Bus Station.
Actually, while you are at Diamond Hill and if you are hungry, take the escalator up to the shopping centre. First shop you will see is Marks and Spencer! Top floor is the food hall. Alternatively, there's also a McDonalds & a Kentucky.0 -
Alternatively, get off at Choi Hung MTR and take the fast Mini Bus to Sai Kung. 7.5HKD per person(Adult and Child) They accept Octopus Card or cash. (20mins or less to Sai Kung Bus Stn)
Also, a Taxi from Diamond Hill is about $100HKD (£6.66). No need to tip Taxi Drivers in HK.0
