There are many restaurants in Hong Kong, ranging from very cheap to very expensive. McDonalds for example is only about 2 pounds per meal per person. Or you can go to a fancy restaurant which will cost about 30 pounds per person.
In some locations, shops open till late, so you might enjoy doing some night time shopping and then just walk back to the hotel.
Your daughter may love to visit Ocean Park http://www.oceanpark.com.hk/eng/main/index.html or maybe Disney Land Hong Kong (?)0 -
Remember HK now has a disneyworld, so you may want to take your daughter there when you go."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

What, and miss all the action?
If you're looking at the Oasis deal, then I guess you'd be wanting good value accommodation - in that case, the hotels on Hong Kong Island itself are probably out of the question. However, there are loads of good deals on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. The Kowloon Hotel (on the block directly behind the famous Peninsula Hotel) is pretty good, close to the MTR and within walking distance of the Star Ferry.0 -
We were in HK last year and the YMCA is fantastic - check it out.
Very clean, Kowloon side, and right on the sea front. Great for watching all the ships etc go past, and also for the fantastic view of HK island. We did not stay there, but we did go in the YMCA and were impressed.
We loved HK.0 -

In HongKong they love kids, so I wouldn't worry what hotel you stay in.
Go for one that is right for you, read up carefully about where it is situated, i.e close to the Star Ferry is always helpful as that opens the doors to the majority of transport.
Going up to the peak on the train is fantastic, a walk about the shops in the evening is great seeing the skyscrapers all lit up.
Don't forget if you want a good quality tailored suit to get one while you are out there. It costs probably that of an M&S suit but fits perfectly
Have fun0 -

Lol, definitely join in with the HK kids and visit MacDonalds!
Also try Café de Coral - HK's answer to McDonalds!
They serve the Chinese equivalent of western fast food and some bizarre interpretations of 'western food' too. Best fried egg with gravy I've ever had :whistle:0 -
hi
i grew up there.
as others have said, hk loves kids and it's safe virtually anywhere in hk.
it's hard to find a bad hotel there!would be very hard to go wrong,it just depends on budget.
by the way, with an 11 yr old, remember to try ocean park on the south side of hk island, a great day out.
hope you have a lovely time. :j0 -
Oh yes Cafe de Coral, I have been there too, quite a 'stylish' and clean fast food chain.
Have tried their afternoon tea set which was VERY good value and reasonable quality too.point3 wrote:Lol, definitely join in with the HK kids and visit MacDonalds!
