Freebies/Goodies when you hit 50 - what is there?

I've seen the lovely Michael Aspel on the telly, offering a free Parker Pen if I buy into their insurance plan, but, that aside.... what goodies/freebies and extras can one start receiving once one hits the big five O?

Anything I need to know about? Stuff like special savings accounts that are good, or ... well, anything. I'm at the "I don't know what to ask, so I can't just ask" stage :)

sorry, don't think you get anything for reaching your half-century. But you could check in one of the 'sticky' threads at the top which lists offers for the over-60s, though I think a lot of them might be out of date by now.

    Cheaper insurance cover.

You do have to hunt around though - and make it plain to insurance companies that you expect to have cheaper cover now that you are over 50.

    Try RIAS.

Don't forget that, at 50, you can now be a SAGA member, with access to lots of discounted insurance and holiday offers.

Look on the bright side. You've got 10 years, or more, of looking forward to all the freebies you get when you're 60, or more.
