Teabags
Supernoodles
ice polls (the ones that you can freeze)
crisps

Bags of dried pasta and some stir-in sauces. Make sure the sauces are packed inside several carrier bags in case they burst in transit. You don't want oily tomato sauces over all your holiday clothes!0

i usually take:
butter
cooked meats, packed with a skinny ice pack inside a towel
bacon and sausage as above
tins of tuna
cheese
packets of savoury rice
sachets of instant curry sauce and another for either a casserole or spag bol
the above should enable you to make meals for a few days, to help you not hve to spend much in the first few days of your hols while you work out the best places to eat etc0 -

I'd just be a bit careful with the meat....I'm pretty sure you're not actually allowed to take such things in your suitcase. I know someone in Ireland who used to take a load of bacon and sausage to the USA in their suitcase but they were always worried incase they were stopped and had it confiscated.0 -
when you are eating out lok out for set menus - less choiuce but way cheaper. Also it's usually much cheaper to eat out at lunch time than in the evening - might be worth having your biggest meal in the middle of the day
light things to carry (and quick to cook), as other people have suggested noodles, cous cous, cup-a-soups, different sauces in sachets - like colemans
enjoy your holiday!:beer:0
