Nice.
They always have -the 'victim' lists are passed all around the scammers, they don't care who they sell to.0 -

So "Yes" are run by Nigerian 419 fraudsters now?0 -
oh dear...the people who want to be hand held through life have been conned again....stop giving bank details out you buffoons. It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Another idiot here who fell for the Yes loans scam. Thankfully after I got off the phone something didn't ring true so I looked them up and found this thread. Thankfully I have too little in my account for them to take the £69.50 they wanted. It did seem odd that they wanted the long number on my debit card but I stupidly thought it was so they could take payment by debit card to repay the loan monthly.
I have now cancelled my card and am awaiting a new one.
As for Yes loans - when the paperwork arrives they will be getting it back with a stiff letter about their business practices and I will also pass it on to the OFT and FSA (if they are interested).
Yes I have to take some responsibility for being naiive but the bulk of their site does not suggest they are anything other than a loan company.
Salutory lesson to myself - READ THE T&Cs in future.0 -
Unfortunately, there are also many desperate people who are not thinking things through properly, maybe blinded by panic or who knows what else.0

You're right, but equally it isn't helpful to shout "I've been robbed, they have stolen, it's unauthorised, my money has been taken illegally, it was unlawful" etc. etc.
You are absolutely correct about the lightbulb moment which is why so many are steered toward the DFW Board, unfortunately far too many see another loan as the ideal solution to give "one simple monthly repayment" grrrr, hate that saying!!:mad:0 -

When you do have the money in your account. They will pounce..Beware
I do not think changing your card helps as it still is the same account..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?

I will check this with the bank. The new card has a different number according to the lady I spoke with so my old card is now invalid.
The should not be able to take anything with just the account details. They will also get nothing signed by me - not even the snotty letter I have written back.0 -
