    trouser,
We were not given a chance to read the T&C. Yet they still took £69, .

With respect, the T&C's have been posted by a user who has never been in contact with Yes Loans.

Hindsight is wonderful granted, but you could have put the phne down, read through the T&C's then rang them back if you wanted to proceed.

    They aren't hidden.

Good luck to you all in getting your money back though.

Well, as I explained I expected that a British company regulated by FSA would be somewhat different to scamsters operating from Nigeria, you know, the ones that email you to say they want to share their millions with you if only you give them your bank details!?

I expected wrong. It's all our fault. British companies have no responsibility and they are ok to practice as long as they can fool people. Fine.

    Oh, so it's our fault?
    I
The reason we gave the m our bank details is that the guys on the phone told us this was needed to fill in the forms before he sent it out to us.
    .

    The above screams Red Flag!!!

Sorry but why would they need your bank details to fill in a form????

I can understand how people are duped though and abhor the methods used by these companies.
    (c) Broke in Yorkshire. ( there are worse places ) :D

Those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter!
  • Really annoying hearing ***** commenting here on you should have read this, should have read that etc before actually knowing what extent this company goes to scam people.

I always check terms and conditions and I was also under the impression that in UK, companies had to have a certain agree of trust in order to be able to perform credit checks etc.

When I was speaking to these idiots, I asked them if a) is the loan approved = Yes , b) when will the money be in my account = maximum of 7 days after me returning the papers signed , c) what if I decide not to take the loan after reading the terms and conditions sent to me = then I get the money refunded.

Now all this happened due to me following the tips from MONEYSAVINGEXPERT.COM. It said I had a bad credit rating due to not having enough credit history, hence registering for a payday loan would help to increase that. I did, then today I received a text msg on my new mobile number which I used in the payday loan application, saying I could get a loan up to £20.000. Though bad rates, I still can afford it to increase my credit history in the UK, as I earn quite well.

Therefore, decided to take a loan on £4000, with payback one year.

We will now see if I ever get that loan, but if I don't, then they have basically lied as I did specifically ask them if I had been accepted and he also did a credit check for me on the phone.

    Two outcomes :

    1) I get the loan and I'm happy as it will increase my credit rating in the UK.

    2) I don't get the loan and I will sue those scumbags inclusive of all time it takes me to get that money back.

I always check terms and conditions

Now all this happened due to me following the tips from MONEYSAVINGEXPERT.COM.

I can't believe you had advice on here to give your bank details out without checking the company first.

You say you DID check the Terms and Conditions.

We would like lots of things to be transparent.... for example, the Car Dealer spouting Flat Rate Interest at a naive punter fooling him into thinking it is the APR.
How about ordering some Teeth Whitening Paste on a FREE MONTHS TRIAL??
How about buying a BRAND NEW XBOX BOX on ebay??

The list is endless, but ultimately this will come down to the Telephone Call you had.

We have had representatives of these type of companies on here "helping out".
They state all calls are recorded. We have had these reps claiming to have reviewed the call vehemently claiming the fees etc were mentioned during the call.
This is ALWAYS at odds with the posters who have fallen victim.

Try getting a copy of that recording..... good luck!

Nobody on here is defending the actions of these companies.

The message people ARE trying to get across, is that if you want a loan and you speak to a company....

    1. Put the flippin phone down.
    2. Research the Company (read the T&C's)
    3. Ring them back if you like the results of your searching.

It's the desperation people are trying to educate against.

Someone is on the phone PROMISING you the end of all your troubles when everyone else is saying NO.

It should ring alarm bells but it clearly doesn't, Gimme Gimme Gimme!

If it sounds too good to be true and all that jazz.

You simply HAVE to take precautions and go into this with your guard up, if all you see is the pound signs.... more disaster awaits.

It saddens me somewhat that for every poster who replies to a post about being ripped off, he is instantly spat at.

Sometimes you have to eat a bit of humble pie and take the hard lesson.

The World is not here to protect you.... never has been.... and never will be.

Has anyone suffered similar. YesloansUk.com taking money from their account to the sum of £69 for brokers fees then being passed to and fro and having a further £375 taken out on some no win no fee swindle over PPI. And when you cancel well within the 14 day limit you receive no refund after 30 days taking a complaint to the financial ombudsman to sort things out.

Well so have many others, but I dont think anything real is being done about it, I feel its quite criminal especially since the customer service line can ring for over 30 mins at 10p a minute yet the sales team are instant and any complaint is made with either a hang up or passed onto the same 10p line.

Please join me in a joint effort to put forth a complaint to the financial ombudsman, and the office of fair trading for the direct violation against the consumer credit act

Please only genuine cases that have gone unheard of and cases where money has been refunded only after a formal complaint to the ombusman and we'll take it to the next stage. Lets stop them trading in the way they do, this also goes for the barrage of cold calling they persist in doing please. I'll post my email to send stuff to when i get some real support.

    cheers everyone

I think there is another company called Loan Options UK coming under the umbrella of Superb International - they have website
www.loanoptions.co.uk or similar and they also take money upfront i ve googled and read many people who they say they have a loan for as brokers who they have taken money from over phone and then they have never received their loan. Might be worth checking this company out and adding it to the campaign?

Whilst not trying to Defend Yes Loans, people really should start READING the T&C's.

Why oh WHY are people moaning about being kept on hold whilst they rant about getting their refund when the T&C CLEARLY state it must be done in writing???

Whilst I disagree with the whole Yes Loan business model, it all seems pretty clear if you have a look at what you are signing up to.

That's the biggest issue, people simply believe someone else should be looking out for them and go about their way blissfully ignorant to taking the most basic of precautions.

I have absolutely no connection, nor have had ANY dealings with Yes Loans but even I can go 5 minutes out of my way to have a look at the T&C's..... how come people who feel cheated cannot spend this 5 minutes looking???

    http://www.yesloansuk.com/terms/terms.php

You are right people should read terms and conditions however with Loan Options UK they phoned me after filling in a form on what I thought WAS A REPUTABLE SITE???? you dont have time to see t and cs before they ask you for your money - luckily I did not part with any however as someone else on here has said when you are in s1it street you are emotional and dont always act sensibly :T
  • Yes Loans, more like No Loans.
I wish i had looked into this company before processing an application with them.First of all, THEY contacted me, i did not contact them. I believe they got my details from a loan comparison site in which at the time i was looking for a loan to buy a car. When i got the call they said they could give me a quote, so i thought why not. They did a very lengthy application over the phone and said i would be accepted for the loan amount i wanted, which i thought was great seen as because ive never had to apply for credit before i was finding it difficult to be accepted for a loan, so i proceeded to ask them what the APR rate would be, the man told me that he couldn't tell me this at this time...?! so i said i would no way be interested if they couldn't tell me the APR rate, then he said he would put me through to someone who could sort this for me, so he did. Again i got told that the only way i could find out what the APR would me is if i handed over a 'admin fee' of £69.50 and that they could 'release the papers' for me to sign. Just LOL. what a load of crap, so i said do not call me again im not interested.
A few days later these 'papers' turned up, said that i needed to sign them and send a cheque for this 'admin fee' so they would find me a loan. At this point you've probs guessed that Yes Loans are a broker, they do not advertise that they are a broker though.
I ignored these 'papers' and then about a week later i noticed that exactly £69.50 had been debited from my account. I called Yes Loans to see if it was them, where i was put through to a extremely rude man who sounded like he was a chav that couldn't talk correctly and had no manners what so ever, his answer to everything i asked and said was 'i dunno'. I did not consent to anything to be processed or any money to be taken what so ever.
as their terms and conditions state, if you want to cancel a application you have to give them written notice within 14 days, so i did so. 3 weeks after i sent my recorded notice i still had not heard anything, so i sent another recorded letter, after 2 weeks i had STILL no heard anything. my 3rd and final letter i sent i told them that i would now be taking this up legally. after 4 weeks i had STILL not had any contact from them! 3 days later i had a cheque arrive in the post from them. I'm going to be cashing it into my account tomorrow so we shall see if it clears.
PLEASE do not bother with this company, not even if your desperate for a loan! The people on the other end are hopeless and its shocking how they talk to you, shout at you and even had them swear at me. I cant believe that they still actually have a broker license after all this evidence that they are just scamming people. Someone needs to shut this company down.

Also yes loans themselves dont look for a loan for you, they just give out your information to companies to contact you directly with, for weeks i had 'car finnance' companies calling me none stop every day, harassing me over and over calling back every day after i told them to disguard my information. each time i asked where they had had my information from and every single one said 'from yes loans'...
