Hi, I just got an HP F4580 printer and set it up without any problems for usb printing, but for some reason it is not connecting wirelessly - any idea any idea anyone please?
The error msg im getting is below. I know my WEP security key but it doesnt seem to be working
Your wireless router requires a WEP security key. The security key configured on your printer does not match exactly. Reconfigure your wireless network WEP security key for your printer.
Your printer has limited connectivity. Your printer is using IP address 169.254.100.251, which is not compatible with the IP address 192.168.2.3 of the PC. Power off your printer and then power on and wait 60 sec for the printer to acquire an IP address. Then click Retry.

I don't know if the HP wireless printers are the same as the Epson printers in terms of setup.
I have an wireless Epson, and you have to connect the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable in order for it to pick up the network and determine an IP address; then you can disconnect said cable and it works wirelessly from then on.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

the printer is not getting an IP address off your router, you need to set your printer to DHCP mode so it gets one off the routertechieshelp.com0 -
thanks - how do I do the DHCP mode - not sure what this is? HP doesnt seem to be the same as Epson - no ethernet port on the printer0

Have you set the wireless up using the CD? Also would recommend WPA/2 rather than WEP if your router allows0
