Here is a new thread that i thought people could look at and learn.
My Son was walking home from having a few drinks in his mates house on his way he noticed an arguement and when he looked it was a male and he had hit a female and she had fallen down now the male had ripped open her blouse and when my son came closer he was trying to pull the girls trousers off. My son chalenged him and he pushed my son away saying none of your F*****G business so my son clocked him one and knocked him out helped the girl up she was crying hysterically and asked my son if he would walk her home as she was scared of the guy who was her boyfriend. my son took her home and she asked him inside just for a little while which he did then there was a knock on the door so my son answered it thinking it was her boyfriend returning but it was the Police and they arrested my son and kept him in all night. the girl did explain what had happened and in the morning he was told by the officer/s "we would have done the same thing" and releasd him. Now a couple of years my son forked out £700.00 on training to be a doorman so they did a police check and it came back as he had a caution for the offence and he couldn't get a doormans licence because of it, and they wouldn't refund his money £700.00 down the drain because of a good deed and a night in the cells to boot. wish there was something he could do as he is out of work with a wife and child.

It was probably an enhanced CRB.
There has been something in the news a while back about some police stations not wiping records when they should have been but cant remember the exact details so not sure if this would possibly fall into that category.
Best advice would be to speak to the police station in question. Some can be akward but some will give you info of whats on your CRB without charging any money
and they'll also have a better idea if its possible to have it wiped from his record.
EDIT: I think the wiping part was for non-violent crimes - but like i said, i'm not sure so always better to check! You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
hate to say it because whilst it was a good deed he should have called the police at the beginningThe Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

I am sorry, but this makes my blood boil:( Imagine the indignation if your son had just walked by and allowed this attack to accelerate? Common sense has gone out of the window!
I am so sorry, I have nothing useful to add apart from please challenge this, but just wanted you to know how disgusted I am by this whole episode - why would anyone bother to get involved???? Grrrrr!!!0 -

You can't receive a caution unless you admit having committed an offence, so it would appear that there is something missing in your OP.0

Interesting. If it had gone to court he may have been able to use the defence of using reasonable force in order to prevent harm. Personally i'd say clocking a male to protect them from raping a female is proportionate, necessary and reasonable given the time of day, gender difference and gravity of the potential crime. His situation sucks, I'm sorry he is going through this.Good Enough Club member number 27(2) AND I got me a stalkee!

so what good has it done he OP then getting involved and where exactly in the OP did it suggest that rape was on the cards? The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

Which might be a route of a lot of problems these days, people being to afraid to intervene in matters at a time that would prevent more harm than waiting for the police.Interesting. He would use the defence of self defence, which allows you to use reasonable force to protect yourself, and other people from a threat.Googlewhacker wrote: »so what good has it done he OP then getting involved and where exactly in the OP did it suggest that rape was on the cards?
maybe "he was trying to pull the girls trousers off" gives an indication of rape.
If the police have his records wrong, it might be possible to recover the £700 from the police.0
