If they are feather filled, you could add the feathers to the compost heap......I suppose if they are foam filled, you could still use them on the top of compost as insulation over winter.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

I keep mine and pass them on to my dd, there is always a child being sick or having an accident in bed! She bins the ruined pillows and uses mine as replacements. (sounds gross when I write it down, but we are family and it works for us :rotfl:)

Thanks everyone for the ideas. They're not feathered ones, we are too animal friendly (or rather I suppose that should be bird friendly!) for that.
Need a draught excluder for the hallway....Don't know why I didn't think of that! I'll sew two together then I can have a long fat draught excluder.
Thanks again, I knew people on here would stop me landfilling themThere is no issue so small that it can't be blown out of proportion0 -
Hi nicoll,
There's an earlier thread with more ideas that may help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.

I bought us new pillows on the weekend, our local co-op department store is closing down so got some really good bargains on new pillows, duvets and bed linen.
I will use our old duvets as dog beds but can't think what to do with the old pillows. They aren't good enough to go to the charity shop as they are quite old but don't want to fill the dustbin up with them.
Any suggestions?
I work in a kennels and one of our customers makes fantastic beds for her dogs out of old pillows. (I am about to copy her with my old pillows).
Basically, she sews the pillows together down the long side (making a square pillow) and makes covers for them out of old curtains. They are nice and thick and comfy for the dogs and easily washable :T.

I just throw them outside from bedroom or use them as my dog bed.0
