I do guerrilla gardening locally to me, have done for years.
Council told me off for sowing French beans, could I stick to non edibles please.
Mardatha I think you've got more chance of getting the RV to eat vegetarian spaghetti bolognese than use baking soda as toothpaste.
I still have an unused tube of arm and hammer baking soda toothpaste in my cupboard was on bogof.
It's like a mouth full of seawater...yuck!0 -

And I must have funny taste buds because I quite liked that Arn&Hammer toothpaste - or maybe it was the thymol one, come to think of it.Jan 2011 GC £300/£150.79 (2 adults, 2 teens, working dog, includes food/cleaning/toiletries)0 -

Yes, it's wonderful! I really like Ceridwen's idea that we try to do the same. I'm not sure what I'm able for physcally these days but I am going to keep my eyes peeled for a spot to sow edibles. I'm not sure that people would avail of them around here but I like the idea anyway - it might make people think about growing their own if nothing else.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

My front garden gets a lot more sun than the back but it's open to the footpath. I could grow stuff there but I'm worried they would be vandalised round here...
Skint but happy with my lovely family

I'd like to pick your brains now, on planting & growing. I'm reading about sq foot gardening and also about permaculture. Which way would work best ? Which have you tried ? And do you think either of them are really necessary anyway ? Would the good old fashioned grandads way do fine ? Bearing in mind that our aim in here is to be self sufficient (maybe possibly one day) LOL!0
