Hi Cathy lol
I think you've hit the nail on the head......I think alot of price rises are simply down to analysts looking at what people are buying, then up goes the price!0 -
Would agree too - many companies are using any excuse to up their prices - and whats worse too reducing the size of the packet/product that you are buying so its a double whammy!Every days a School day!0

Just been in Mr S and was shocked  by the prices. I have been using local little Mr A and it doesnt seem as dear in there. I spent £42  in Mr S and was not a happy bunny at all! Half price whoopsies - £12 for a small leg of lamb - and I bet the farmers are not getting anywhere near that off them. Our budget this week is bu**ered.Clearing the junk to travel light

Just asked hubby out of interest how much a lamb would cost a meat producer to buy from the farmer and he says at the moment they are approx £75-£80, maybe slightly more depending on the quality and size.Every days a School day!0

Mr S has dearer with a lot of things especially their whoopsies of late, they have cottoned on to the fact we are waiting to buy them and as some people will buy them even if they are only a few pence cheaper thinking they have a bargain, they are not cutting the prices as much.
I would love to know how Mr S actually do the price comparison as yesterday after paying for shop was a printout saying my shopping was £4.65 cheaper than Mr A and Mr T - but short of going there or looking on my supermarket I cannot be sure. Only twice since they started this have I had vouchers as they said I paid more one for 32p and one for 43p, usually printout says same price or saved a few pence. Yesterday was all Christmas things like my mincemeat - yes I know I should make it (before this starts WWIII) but was hoping to but health has gone down and am more in bed exhausted with high pain levels than anything else at moment and these flares can last a week or a month and so where as I can be sure I will make HM mince pies with the jar of mincemeat I am not sure I would be able to make the mincemeat and get the pies done as well. I have to use the energy I have as best I can to get everything done. I am trying to aim for an old fashioned Christmas with everything HM ( although have to admit Christmas without Iceland mini chocolate !clairs would not seem the same and no chance of making them). Was hoping to make a Christmas pud but bought one in just in case as well as all the ingredients if I can do so.
Also was lucky that they had the mini Christmas trees in, they only get a few each year and some years I have missed out, only 12ins high but the only tree I have since all the children flew the nest and then afterwards its planted in the garden, only one is still around as others been killed off over the years but workmen dumping all sorts on them or this year two that were 2 and 3ft were cut down by a guy supposed to be only cutting hedges in back, he decided he would cut grass in front while he was waiting to be collected, was not amused. Surviving on stands at around 12ft now and each year I hope no one decides it would look nice in their living room, going to put lights on it this year and have bought solar lights for it as no way will I pay for electric to light it up. Most places don't sell the tiny trees I guess they want them to grow more before selling but I adore them. Have all little decorations and light for it. I think I am going to have to pay for holly this year not amused as that was something else this guy cut down - had been growing this little tree about 5 years but he had gone before I had found out grrrrrr. Have bought four holly bushes but they are only small so cannot take any from them this year. No one by me has any in their gardens, most gardens now by me are flagged either fully or 3/4 with tiny flowerbeds in them. I look at them and think do people really like living in a car park, if they dislike gardens so much why not live in apartment. I had a look via google earth and most of the back gardens are either flagged or grass with a tiny border no wonder we have flooding round here and yet we are over 200 miles from nearest flood plain. Left side of my front garden has been under 6 ins of water many times in past few years when we have lots of rain as house is nearly the bottom of a gentle hill so the water runs off their flags and my garden soaks it up as that is lowest point before it hits flags again and grrrrrrr.
Ok rant over. Got to make myself move and go and get bread out of bread machine as it keeps loaves warm for an hour after finishing but I find with wholemeal ( what I have made) it tends to make crust hard.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
