We had a coal fired Rayburn,it was for cooking, heating the hot water and the radiators. Expensive to run,and dirty. But otherwise brill, could chuck wood on it and all the rubbish too.................. we still had to have an electric hob though, for cooking in summer."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -

Giger - it is lovely and I wanted that too.
I have an Aga woodburning stove in the Snug - it was the closest I could get to a real Aga without a major house re-design, and a Rangemaster range fan oven (made by Aga so does that count?). No gumboots though!
I made jam with some very reduced plums last night and it is very, very good.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

My downfall....rushing whilst grocery shopping and putting too much rubbish in trolley. Looking for meal planners to stick to and making more home produce etc.
