if i'm staying yes I would, but if i'm leaving well no because their actual loss would be pennies, these machines don't accept anything other than another 1 or 2 hours parking, as mentioned if they charged on exit instead of entry it would be a better reflection on your use of the space. Out of interest would you pay for another couple of hours of parking if you were leaving ?

So if you won't pay at the end for your overstay, why bother paying at the start??

OOI I never pay for parking tickets anywhere, I never respond to PPC letters and I never pay any charges, fines, or invoices - [council or otherwise].

Strange that some people who say they have nothing to do with the private parking industry [on moral as opposed to legal grounds], would keep posting in favour of these scammers.

Er, wrong. I don't work for a PPC. See previous post above for my POV on private parking.

I'm merely asking you [rippedoff] why it's OK for you to clamp someone on your land, but you start crying when someone else does it. Seriously, why can you not simply answer that one question?

Dear oh dear. Oopsadaisy you do have a strange interpretation of "clamping". I wasn't aware that parking on my own drive would raise any issues. Maybe if you use Perky Law but otherwise no.

Time to stop disrupting these threads and get back to advising PPC victims to ignore these unenforcable begging letters.

Come on, by parking on your drive you would be immobilising the other persons car [which is exactly what many of the PPCs do]

So, I ask again why it's OK for you to immobilise/block in someone on your land, but you start crying when someone else does it. Seriously, why can you not simply answer that one question?

well because 99% of the time I leave before the ticket expires, so as I leave early most of the time, aren't I entitled to a refund for unused time ? But as someone with kids who pick the most inconvenient times to play up or wanting to go to toilet etc, you do get held up at times, is a £50 a charge justified for a few minutes ? The courts don't think so as these tickets are not enforceable.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I received a parking fine on a carpark I have used for years, the PCN (parking charge notice) was stuck on my windscreen in an official PCN envelope, I chuckled to myself having just had a conversation with my colleague a traffic warden !!!!
As I work for Worcs City Council i thought she had put the ticket on as a joke, but no the printed parking charge was very official looking stating a reference number my vehicle details and location of the carpark in which my car was parked.
Having been a civil enforcement officer for two years I have a vast knowledge of issuing legal and valid parking notices to members of the public who were in contravention of the Traffic management Act 2004, of which there is no mention of on this notice. I will not be making a payment of £90 or a reduced rate of £50 and if they pursue this I will pass it to my colleagues in our legal department for thier perusal STAND UP TO THIS INTIMIDATION AND DECEPTION, STAMP OUT THESE CROOKS it comes under the heading of the law "obtaining money by menaces" :rotfl::p:rotfl:

I feel for you, obviously you are inbetween jobs at the moment so I wish you well with your search for a real, useful position. I agree with everything you've said apart from the bit in bold. Councils mostly do NOT issue legal and valid PCNs!

Most people get off most Council PCNs if they go to adjudication, often due to the Councils' errors. Sadly most people do not realise this.

And most people get off most PCNs if they post on pepipoo - even if ticketed when clearly in contravention - read it and weep:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30

Maybe you are one of the nicer CEOs but the statement that Councils issue legal and valid PCNs could not go unchallenged! Which Council do you work for please, if you don't mind saying I am sure we can find lots of errors posted on forums about 'your' PCNs, NtOs, lines, signs and Traffic Orders!

Keep ignoring the scammers though, a parking charge notice is not a real PCN. You do know you will get a whole load of debt collector letters though? Check out our top thread 'PPC letter chains' so you are ready and waiting to play snap with each scamogram.

    :D
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The PPCs don't issue the invoices with reference to the Traffic Management Act, they issue them because the driver "accepted" a contract and they are trying to get contractual penalties for the driver breaching said "contract".

Only the landowner can sue the driver for provable damages from the vehicle trespassing on his/her land, in most cases this is zero, so ignore the PPC and the lovely lot of loo paper the registered keeper will be receiving soon
